    What’s a Cheap Vacuum?

Cheap vacuums come in various types, like stick, handheld, and upright, with popular brands like Bissell and Dirt Devil leading the pack.

Unlike their high-end counterparts, they trade some features and longevity for affordability.

Despite sometimes lacking advanced settings, they're excellent for tackling everyday messes and their lightweight designs are a bonus.

However, based on our observations, their lifespan might be shorter and their suction power varies.

Our Expert Opinion of the ThisWorx Car Vacuum

I've tested out the ThisWorx Car Vacuum, and let me tell you, its powerful suction is a game-changer.

It takes various surfaces in stride, and the filtration system? It's top-notch, capturing those fine particles like a pro.

Now, the build could be a bit sturdier, but hey, for the price you're paying, it's definitely a good deal.

Plus, you wouldn't believe how lightweight and portable this little powerhouse is - makes car cleaning a breeze.

Putting it head-to-head with competitors, it's clear that ThisWorx sucks up the competition, outdoing both the HOTOR Car Vacuum and Armor All AA255.

The Black+Decker Dustbuster is a tough contender, but ThisWorx still comes out on top with its easy use and portability.

Looking back at its roots, the ThisWorx lineage started with the TWC-01 and TWC-02 models.

The newest model really took the cake though, ramping up the suction power to new levels.

Plus, they've sorted out those past complaints about filter quality, giving us a system that's both tough and efficient.

Our Ratings of the ThisWorx Car Vacuum

    Suction Power 8.1
The ThisWorx Car Vacuum has a suction power of 106 watts, which is about average for a car vacuum. It can pick up small debris and pet hair, but it may not be strong enough to deep clean your car, especially if you have a lot of dirt or mud.
    Filtration System Quality 7.9
The ThisWorx Car Vacuum has a washable double filter that does a good job of trapping dirt and debris. However, the filter can be difficult to clean, and it may not be able to capture all of the fine particles in the air.
Price & Value for Money 8.8
The ThisWorx Car Vacuum is a very affordable option, especially considering its features. It is a good value for the price, and it is a great option if you are looking for a basic car vacuum that can pick up dirt and debris.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.5
The ThisWorx Car Vacuum is made of durable materials and it feels well-built. However, the plastic housing is not as sturdy as some other car vacuums, and it may be more prone to damage.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
The ThisWorx Car Vacuum is very lightweight and portable, making it easy to take with you on the go. It is also small enough to fit in most cars, so you can easily store it when you are not using it.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The ThisWorx Car Vacuum is a corded vacuum, which means that you will need to plug it into your car's cigarette lighter in order to use it. This can be inconvenient if you are trying to vacuum your car in a location where there is no power outlet.

Who’s the ThisWorx Car Vacuum For?

    • Frequent Travelers - The portability and power make it ideal for on-the-go cleanups during road trips or long commutes.
    • Pet Owners - Its impressive suction is great for effectively removing pet hair from car upholstery.
    • Budget-conscious Shoppers - Offering solid performance at a reasonable price, it's perfect for those seeking value for money in their cleaning tools.

Who Should Avoid the ThisWorx Car Vacuum?

    • Home Cleaning Enthusiasts - It's not designed for large-scale, domestic cleaning due to its compact size and car-oriented design.
    • Individuals Seeking Heavy-duty Vacuuming - Its build might not withstand extensive use in rugged conditions or for large debris.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the ThisWorx Car Vacuum

    • Weight & Portability - The portability of this vacuum is one of my favorite things about it. It's lightweight and super easy to handle, making car cleaning less of a chore. The long cord allows me to reach any part of my car easily, and the storage bag makes it portable and easy to store. It's been a game-changer for my car cleaning routine!
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - I've been impressed by how this vacuum handled various surfaces in my car. From the carpets to the hard surfaces, it cleaned up nicely. The additional attachments were lifesavers, especially for those awkward nooks and crannies. They made reaching those tricky spots a breeze.
    • Filtration System Quality - This vacuum comes with an extra filter and a brush for cleaning it, which I found quite handy. The only downside is the filter getting clogged up with even a small amount of dirt, reducing the suction power. This meant that I had to empty the dust cup more frequently than I would have liked, but it was a minor inconvenience for the overall cleaning power it offers.
    • Durability & Build Quality - This vacuum is quite light and easy to maneuver, making it a great tool for quick cleanups. While I haven't had it for years to comment on its long-term durability, it has held up well through several uses. The build seems sturdy and well-made for a vacuum of its size and price point.
    • Price & Value for Money - The value for money of this vacuum is hard to beat. It's an affordable solution that does an excellent job, even for someone like me who's budget-conscious. The convenience it offers, such as being able to plug it into a car's lighter socket, adds even more to its value.

Cons of the ThisWorx Car Vacuum

    • Ineffective on Certain Debris - I struggled with its inability to vacuum small particles and hair, noticing a clear lack of suction power when dealing with specific debris.
    • Low-quality Accessories - The storage bag it came with quickly showed wear, developing holes after minimal use, making me question the product's overall quality.
    • Unexpected Power Issues - When I used the vacuum, it caused unexpected power issues, even short-circuiting my car's power outlet, causing me both inconvenience and additional expense.

Our Expert Opinion of the VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189

I've gotten to know quite a few budget-friendly vacuums in my time, and the VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189 is one that stands out.

The suction power packed into this compact little gadget genuinely surprised me.

Cleaning various surfaces, especially car upholstery, was a breeze.

It's not just about power and performance either. This vacuum is so lightweight and easy to carry, you'd be amazed.

And with a price tag that's hard to beat, it's an exceptional choice for any car owner.

When I pitted it against the Black+Decker Dustbuster and the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, the VL189's superior suction power became apparent.

It even gave the ThisWorx TWC-01 a run for its money in terms of cleaning performance on different surfaces.

But what really sets the VL189 apart from the crowd is its portability - it's just so much more user-friendly.

I remember VacLife's older models, the VL182 and VL186. Comparatively, the VL189 is like a breath of fresh air.

It's not just about the increased suction power, it's the focus on portability and addressing previous criticisms about weight.

To me, that shows VacLife is a company that listens and evolves.

Our Ratings of the VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189

    Suction Power 8.4
The VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189 has a suction power of 90 watts and is able to pick up dirt, dust, and debris from carpets, upholstery, and hard surfaces.
    Filtration System Quality 7.2
The VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189 has a HEPA filter, which captures fine particles such as dust, pollen, and pet dander and a foam filter, which traps larger particles such as dirt and debris.
Price & Value for Money 8.3
The VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189 is reasonablly priced for a cordless car vacuum cleaner with a suction power of 90 watts. The vacuum cleaner also comes with a two-year warranty, which is a good sign of the manufacturer's confidence in the product.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.5
The VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189 is made of durable materials, such as ABS plastic and stainless steel. It is also lightweight and portable, making it easy to use in and around your car.

Who’s the VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189 For?

    • Frequent Travellers - The compact and portable design makes it ideal for cleaning vehicle interiors on the go.
    • Pet Owners - Its strong suction power effectively tackles pet hair, keeping car upholstery clean and fresh.
    • Budget-Conscious Consumers - Offering high-end performance at a reasonable price, it delivers great value for money.

Who Should Avoid the VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189?

    • Large Homeowners - This vacuum's compact size might not suffice for thorough cleaning in larger homes.
    • Heavy-Duty Users - For those in need of extensive or industrial-level cleaning, this handheld model may not provide enough power.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189

    • Suction Power - Let me tell you, this little guy seriously impressed me with its suction power. It's like a mini powerhouse, easily picking up crumbs, pet hair, and any dirt hiding in corners. Plus, it's been a game-changer when it comes to dealing with spiders without harming them.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - This VacLife vacuum is an all-around champ. Whether it's countertops, couches, car seats, or those fluffy rugs, it handles them with ease. The additional nozzle tip? Perfect for giving your car seats and tiny corners a detailed clean.
    • Filtration System Quality - The filtration system is on point, too. It comes with an extra filter, and that's a really thoughtful add-on. No stressing over replacements for a while!
    • Durability - Durability-wise, this vacuum is rock-solid. I've put it through its paces in my first year of college and with my new car, and it's still running like a champ. Keeping the filter clean seems to be the secret to keeping it in top shape.
    • Price & Value for Money - For the money, you really can't beat this vacuum. It's budget-friendly but performs like a high-end model. Considering the extra filter, powerful suction, and reliable battery life, I feel like I hit the jackpot with this purchase. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Cons of the VacLife Handheld Car Vacuum VL189

    • Charging Issues - When I first tested this vacuum, I was impressed. It picked up everything from the smallest crumbs to larger food particles with ease. However, just a couple of days into use, it abruptly stopped working. Despite leaving it to charge overnight, it refused to power up again the next day, raising significant concerns about its charging system.
    • Poor Build Quality - One of the first things I noticed during testing was the material of the dust canister - it seemed a little on the cheaper side. This suspicion was confirmed when the clip-on part of the dust canister broke after only a few uses. I always handle my testing equipment with care, so it wasn't a case of manhandling - just plain poor build quality.
    • Inconsistent Performance - My experience with this vacuum was fraught with inconsistency. Initially, it worked well for a while, but then it just died. Even after charging overnight, it wouldn't stay on for more than a few seconds. I had it exchanged, hoping the issue was a one-off, but the replacement too died after a day, despite a full charge.

    Iconic, versatile, and trusted tool.

Click To Check The Latest Price

Our Expert Opinion of the BLACK DECKER Dustbuster Handheld

The suction power of the BLACK DECKER Dustbuster Handheld absolutely knocked my socks off - it's small but mighty.

It aced the cleaning test, breezing from hardwood to carpet.

What really blew me away was the top-notch filtration system - it's a game-changer for anyone dealing with allergies.

I found the Dustbuster's build robust yet lightweight, making it a breeze to move around.

And with such impressive performance, it's a real steal for the price.

Compared to the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser and the Dirt Devil Scorpion, the Dustbuster's suction power is clearly superior.

Even the Hoover ONEPWR can't compete when it comes to its filtration system that traps even the smallest particles.

And the icing on the cake?

Despite its robust performance, it's the lightest of the bunch.

Looking back at previous models like the CHV1410L and HHVI315JO42, the Dustbuster has come a long way.

With this latest version, I noticed a significant improvement in suction power.

What's more, they've upgraded the filtration system, effectively squashing earlier issues of dust leakage and allergen dispersal.

Our Ratings of the BLACK DECKER Dustbuster Handheld

    Suction Power 7.1
The Dustbuster has a suction power of 23 watts, which is still sufficient for picking up dust, dirt, and small debris from hard floors and furniture. The Dustbuster also has a two-speed setting, which allows you to increase the suction power for more difficult messes.
    Filtration System Quality 6.9
The Dustbuster has a bagless filtration system, which makes it easy to empty and clean. The filter is also washable, which extends its lifespan.
Price & Value for Money 8.1
The Dustbuster is a relatively affordable handheld vacuum. It costs less than some other cordless handheld vacuums on the market.
    Durability & Build Quality 8.2
The Dustbuster is made from durable materials and is designed to last. It has a lightweight design, making it easy to maneuver around furniture and other obstacles.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
The Dustbuster weighs just over 2 pounds, making it one of the lightest handheld vacuums on the market. This makes it easy to carry around the house and use on stairs and other difficult-to-reach areas.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Dustbuster is a cordless vacuum, which means you can use it anywhere without having to worry about being tethered to an outlet. This is a major advantage over corded vacuums, which can be inconvenient to use.

Who’s the BLACK DECKER Dustbuster Handheld For?

    • Pet Owners - It's ideal for quickly picking up pet hair and scattered food.
    • Car Owners - Perfect for maintaining cleanliness in hard-to-reach areas of vehicles.
    • Parents of Young Children - Handy for swift clean-ups of play and dining areas.

Who Should Avoid the BLACK DECKER Dustbuster Handheld?

    • Deep Cleaning Enthusiasts - This product may not deliver the comprehensive clean you're after for larger spaces.
    • Heavy-duty Users - It's not ideal for extended use or larger debris, as its suction power might not be sufficient.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the BLACK DECKER Dustbuster Handheld

    • Impressive Suction Power - I'm continually amazed by its robust suction capability, which efficiently takes care of human and pet hair alike.
    • Versatile Cleaning Performance - It works great on different surfaces, making it a handy tool for quick cleanups on hard floors, area rugs, and furniture.
    • Effective Filtration System - The filter system is not only efficient but also easy to clean and reuse, saving me money on buying new filters.
    • Solid Durability & Build Quality - My history with this brand speaks volumes; I've had previous models last for years, a testament to their build quality and durability.
    • Excellent Value for Money - Despite being relatively inexpensive compared to other handhelds, it offers reliable performance and an array of useful attachments, making it a worthy investment.

Cons of the BLACK DECKER Dustbuster Handheld

    • Dust Flap and Filter Issues - The vacuum's flap doesn't close right, so dust can sneak out. The "washable" cloth filter? Hard to clean, with dust sticking and fibers shedding during clean-up attempts.
    • Charging Indicator and Charger Design - There's no clear charging light, so it's a guessing game. The charger only fits this model, not other Black+Decker handhelds, and needing a replacement was a pain.
    • Battery Life - Even with its lithium-ion batteries, after two years the vacuum lasts just 30-45 seconds on a full charge. And you can't swap out the batteries yourself, which feels like a big oversight.

Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld

    Effective for spot cleaning tasks.

Our Expert Opinion of the Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld

I have to say, the mighty suction of the Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld really caught my eye.

It effortlessly handled stubborn dirt and debris, and let me tell you, even pet hair on carpets didn't stand a chance.

    And the filtration system?

    Top-notch.

It's amazing at trapping those pesky microscopic particles.

And even though it's built like a tank, it's surprisingly lightweight, making it a handy tool for quick clean-ups.

Now, when I put it up against the Black+Decker Dustbuster and the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, the Scorpion Max's suction power was in a league of its own.

Even the Hoover ONEPWR couldn't match up to its impressive filtration system.

But despite these standout features, it won't burn a hole in your pocket.

It's got an edge in the budget vacuum market, for sure.

Looking back at earlier models like the Scorpion Quick Flip and Scorpion Turbo, the latest Max Power model has come a long way.

They've really ramped up the suction capability and fixed those pesky weight and ergonomic issues.

    The result?

A more user-friendly, portable, and powerful handheld vacuum.

Our Ratings of the Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld

    Suction Power 7.8
The suction power of the Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld is good, but not great. It will pick up most dirt, dust, and hair, but it may not be powerful enough for deep cleaning or for picking up large messes.
    Filtration System Quality 7.2
The filtration system in the Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld is a bagless system. This means that you don't have to worry about buying or changing bags, but it also means that the dust and dirt that the vacuum collects will be released back into the air. The filtration system is not as good as some of the more expensive vacuums, but it is still effective at trapping dust and dirt.
Price & Value for Money 8.3
The Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld is a relatively affordable vacuum. It costs around $40, which is a good price for a vacuum with this level of performance.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.0
The Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld is a durable vacuum. It is made from plastic, but it is sturdy and well-made. The vacuum comes with a two-year warranty, which is a good sign of the manufacturer's confidence in the product.
    Weight & Portability 8.2
The Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld is lightweight and portable. It weighs just 2 pounds, which makes it easy to carry around the house. The vacuum also comes with a variety of attachments, which makes it a versatile tool for cleaning different surfaces.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld is a corded vacuum. This means that it is not as portable as a cordless vacuum, but it does have the advantage of being more powerful. The cord is 25 feet long, which gives you a good amount of reach.

    • Allergy Sufferers - While efficient, the filtration system might not meet the needs of those with severe allergies.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld

    • Car Cleaning is a Breeze - Being lightweight and powerful, it makes cleaning the car feel like a walk in the park.
    • Never Loses Power - Now, this baby is corded, so it just keeps going. It leaves those cordless models in the dust when it comes to consistent suction.
    • Quick Spills? No Problem - Whether it's furniture or a quick spill, this little wonder has got you covered. Talk about versatile!
    • See-Through Dust Bin - You know what's great? The clear dust bin. You can easily tell when it's time to empty it. Efficient, right?
    • Reaches Tight Spaces - The strong suction and maneuverability, especially with the hose attachment, makes it perfect for those hard-to-reach spots.

Cons of the Dirt Devil Scorpion Max Power Handheld

    • Watch Out for that Exhaust - In my experience, those exhaust panels can blow air right back at you. Not fun if you're allergic to dust.
    • Bit of a Heavyweight - For a handheld, it's got a bit more heft than you'd expect. Prolonged cleaning sessions can be a workout.
    • Leaky Dust Seals - Now, this is a real bugbear. It's like the vacuum’s spewing out dust right from its vents during use, not exactly ideal.

Our Expert Opinion of the Dirt Devil Vibe 3-in-1

I have to say, the Dirt Devil Vibe 3-in-1 really caught my attention with its potent suction, especially considering its compact size. It handled dirt on a variety of floors like a champ.

Sure, it could use some tweaks in the filtration department, but the sturdy build tells me it's built to last.

Its price is reasonable too, and it gives pretty good bang for your buck.

But what really got me was how light and portable this little thing is.

Made my cleaning jobs a breeze!

And let me tell you, this Dirt Devil holds its own in a crowd.

It's got stronger suction than the Bissell Featherweight and handles different floor types even better than the Black+Decker Airswivel.

Heck, it's even easier to tote around than the cordless Hoover Linx!

What's more, I've noticed some serious upgrades from the previous model, the Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik.

This new Vibe 3-in-1 has better suction and a much easier carry.

Talk about stepping up their game!

Our Ratings of the Dirt Devil Vibe 3-in-1

    Suction Power 8.4
The Dirt Devil Vibe has a 2.5 amp motor, which is enough suction power to clean most messes in a small to medium-sized home. It does a good job picking up pet hair, dust, and debris from both carpets and hard floors. However, it may not be powerful enough for homes with a lot of pet hair or heavy-duty messes.
    Filtration System Quality 7.4
The Dirt Devil Vibe has a HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of allergens and dust particles. This is good for people with allergies or asthma. However, the filter is not washable, so it will need to be replaced periodically.
Price & Value for Money 8.3
The Dirt Devil Vibe is a budget-friendly vacuum cleaner that offers good value for the price. It is priced at around $50, which is significantly less than many other corded stick vacuums on the market.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.2
The Dirt Devil Vibe is made from durable materials and construction. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver, making it a good choice for small spaces. However, it may not be as durable as some other corded stick vacuums on the market.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
The Dirt Devil Vibe is very lightweight and portable. It weighs only 3.4 pounds, making it easy to carry and maneuver up and down stairs. It also comes with a variety of attachments, which makes it versatile for cleaning different areas of your home.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Dirt Devil Vibe is a corded vacuum cleaner. This means that it is powered by an electrical cord, which can be a drawback in some cases. The cord can get in the way and limit your mobility when you are vacuuming. However, corded vacuums tend to be more powerful than cordless vacuums.

    • Small Apartment Dwellers - The lightweight and compact design makes it perfect for quick clean-ups in tight spaces.
    • Value Conscious Buyers - It offers a balance of affordability and performance, making it a wise investment.
    • Multi-surface Homeowners - Its adaptability across various floor types makes cleaning different areas of the house effortless.

Who Should Avoid the Dirt Devil Vibe 3-in-1?

    • Pet Owners - The filtration system might not effectively handle a high volume of pet hair and dander.
    • Large Home Owners - The cord length and dustbin size might not be adequate for extensive cleaning sessions in large homes.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Dirt Devil Vibe 3-in-1

    • Incredible Suction Power - Let me tell you, this little unit packs a punch. It's got an impressive suction strength that effortlessly picks up things like uncooked pasta and whole peppercorns from my kitchen floor.
    • Adaptable Cleaning Performance - It's a lifesaver on a variety of surfaces around my house. I use it on my hard floors, and even my low-pile rugs. It quickly transforms into a handheld vacuum for those tricky spots.
    • Effective Filtration System - The F77 filter is a breeze to clean and doesn't cost a fortune to replace, a big plus in my book. And thanks to the clear dirt cup, I can always tell when it's time for a cleanout.
    • Solid Build for the Price - Sure, it's mostly plastic, but it's holding up really well. This vacuum has proven to be a tough cookie, providing real bang for your buck without skimping on durability.
    • Light as a Feather & Highly Portable - Weighing in at just 4.4 lbs, this vacuum is super easy to carry around my home. And the ability to convert it into a handheld vacuum? Game changer. It's never been easier to keep my house clean.

Cons of the Dirt Devil Vibe 3-in-1

    • Material Quality Concerns - During my use, I observed that the vacuum's cord cracked easily and I had to resort to electrical tape for repair. The plastic handle on my unit also snapped, making it difficult for me to use it effectively.
    • Design Oversights - In my hands-on testing, I noticed that the vacuum's handle could detach without warning, causing the device to drop. The design of the power switch and the dust bin release was confusing due to their similarity and proximity, leading to accidental mishaps.
    • Performance Shortcomings - I found that for optimal dirt pickup, I had to move the vacuum at a slower pace. Despite my meticulous usage, it occasionally left behind dirt.

Our Expert Opinion of the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld

I've had a good run with the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld and its robust suction power had me impressed right off the bat, picking up everything in its path.

It's not just about the power though; this little guy glides from hardwood to carpet as if it's nothing.

I must admit, I was a bit let down by the filtration system that sometimes coughed up dust, but the overall build is solid and offers bang for your buck.

Even with such a sturdy build, it's lightweight and easy to carry around, perfect for those pesky corners.

Now, I've tried the Black+Decker Dustbuster and Hoover ONEPWR, but when it comes to pure suction, the EUREKA NES100 stands its ground.

Sure, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is a whiz with pet hair, but the EUREKA model is a champ dealing with all sorts of mess.

The NES100 is built to last, edging out its competitors in the durability department.

Looking back, EUREKA has made some strides since the NES210 and NES215 models.

The NES100, with its amped-up suction, really makes up for the NES215's occasional performance hiccup.

And let me tell you, they've really knocked it out of the park with a more portable and user-friendly design, ironing out the NES210's kinks in handling.

Our Ratings of the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld

    Suction Power 8.6
The NES100 has a powerful motor that provides strong suction. It can easily pick up dust, dirt, and pet hair from hard floors and carpets.
    Filtration System Quality 7.8
The NES100 has a HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of airborne particles. This makes it a good choice for people with allergies or asthma.
Price & Value for Money 8.3
The NES100 is priced at a very reasonable price. It is a good value for the money, especially considering its features and performance.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.0
The NES100 is made from durable materials. However, some users have reported that the build quality is not as good as some other vacuum cleaners on the market.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
The NES100 is lightweight and easy to carry around the house. It is also a 3-in-1 vacuum cleaner, so you can use it as a handheld vacuum, a stick vacuum, or an upright vacuum.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The NES100 is a corded vacuum cleaner. This means that it is not as portable as a cordless vacuum cleaner. However, the cord is long enough to reach most areas of your home.

    Who’s the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld For?

    • Small Apartment Dwellers - Its compact design and portability make it ideal for smaller living spaces.
    • Value-conscious Buyers - Offering solid performance and durability at a reasonable price, it's a savvy choice for budget-aware consumers.

Who Should Avoid the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld?

    • Allergy Sufferers - Its filtration system, which can sometimes release small particles, may not be ideal for those with severe allergies.
    • Large Home Owners - For expansive homes with varied floor types and larger debris, this model may not provide the comprehensive cleaning needed.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld

    • Effortless Assembly & Use - I found it super easy to put this vacuum together and start using it. Its swivel feature is a big plus, helping me easily navigate under furniture and tight spaces.
    • Remarkable Cleaning Performance - I was impressed by the amount of dust and debris it managed to scoop up from my hardwood floors and area rugs. The suction power is pretty solid!
    • Corded but Reliable - Yes, it's corded, but that means I didn't have to worry about the battery dying in the middle of cleaning. I appreciated the uninterrupted cleaning sessions.
    • Simple Maintenance - Cleaning the filter was a breeze! I just had to rinse it under water. Plus, its compact size meant I could easily stash it away in my pantry.
    • Value for Money - I've got to say, it offers excellent bang for the buck. It’s great for those quick clean-ups around the house and even in the car.

Cons of the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld

    • Cleaning Up After the Vacuum is a Chore - Cleaning up the vacuum after each use feels like an added chore to my list. The filter needs emptying with the dust compartment, which basically means I'm reintroducing dust and debris back into my space. Definitely not my cup of tea.
    • Struggling with the Cord - The cord's length is a major letdown. It's too short, making it tough to maneuver around freely. Adding an extension cord isn't a straightforward task either, the cord wraps around these tiny bits that just can't accommodate the bulk of an extension cord. It’s like a mini workout session every time I need to use it.
    • Disappointing Suction Power & Performance - The cleaning performance, particularly when it comes to dealing with hair, is a real bummer. Hair seems to love the rotating part of the vacuum more than the dust compartment. I find myself picking out hair manually after almost every use. So, if you've got pets shedding or a family member with long hair, brace yourself for some extra cleaning time.

Our Expert Opinion of the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum

Testing the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum, I was struck by its powerful suction right off the bat.

It zips from hardwood to carpet without a hitch, really showing off its cleaning chops.

It's small, sure, but it's got this filtration system that traps even the smallest specks.

When you feel the sturdy build and see how well it holds up, you'll know it's money well spent.

Plus, it's surprisingly light - it's a breeze to move around the house.

Now, up against the competition, the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum leaves the Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik in the dust, literally.

Sure, Bissell's Featherweight is light, but the Black and Decker is just as portable, if not more.

And the Eureka Blaze? It's handy, but its filtration system can't quite keep up with the Black and Decker.

Looking back at the old Black and Decker models, like the Dustbuster and Lithium Flexi, you can see how far they've come.

The Dustbuster was great to carry around, but the new model's suction is in a different league.

The Lithium Flexi was pretty good at filtration, but the latest model is just way better, really nailing down on those pesky dust leaks.

Our Ratings of the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum

    Suction Power 8.4
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum has good suction power, and it can handle a variety of messes, including pet hair, dust, and dirt. However, it's not as powerful as some of the more expensive handheld vacuums on the market.
    Filtration System Quality 7.2
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum has a good filtration system that traps dust and debris. However, the filter can be difficult to clean, and it may need to be replaced more often than some other handheld vacuums.
Price & Value for Money 7.1
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum is a mid-priced handheld vacuum. It's not the cheapest option on the market, but it offers good value for money.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.0
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum is made from durable materials and is well-built. It should last for several years with regular use.
    Weight & Portability 8.2
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum is lightweight and portable, making it easy to use around the house. It's also small enough to store in a drawer or cabinet.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum is cordless, which makes it very convenient to use. You can take it anywhere in the house without having to worry about tripping over a cord.

    • Busy Parents - Its ability to quickly pick up crumbs and spills can be a lifesaver in households with young, messy children.

Who Should Avoid the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum?

    • Large Homeowners - The limited battery life may not support extensive cleaning required in larger homes.
    • Commercial Cleaners - Its small size and lower capacity are not suited for heavy-duty, commercial-grade cleaning.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum

    • Good Suction Power - During my testing, I found that this handheld vacuum exhibits decent suction power, making it effective for picking up litter, food bits, and dry food.
    • Convenient for Spot Cleaning - I discovered that this vacuum is incredibly handy for quick and easy spot cleaning, especially in corners and crevices, and for tidying up pet debris and crumbs after snacks.
    • Useful for Small Infestations - I was pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness in handling small infestations of fruit flies and Asian beetles, efficiently eliminating them from the air.
    • Lightweight and Easy to Use - With a comfortable grip and lightweight design, I found this vacuum easy to handle during cleaning tasks.
    • Affordable and Decent Quality - Based on my experience, this vacuum is a good pick for those seeking a budget-friendly option, offering decent quality and meeting expectations for spot cleaning tasks.

Cons of the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum

    • Ineffective for Heavy Cleaning - I tested the vacuum on various surfaces, and it struggled to pick up debris from carpets, tight spots, and even small pieces of wood, making it unsuitable for more demanding cleaning tasks.
    • Inconvenient Exhaust Port - The exhaust port's poorly designed location underneath the handle constantly blew debris away while I was trying to vacuum, causing frustration and creating a mess instead of effective cleaning.
    • Short Battery Life - Throughout my testing, I observed that the vacuum's battery drained quickly, lasting only about 20 minutes of non-continuous use, which may not be sufficient for longer cleaning sessions.

Our Expert Opinion of the BISSELL AeroSlim

Honestly, for a mini handheld vacuum, the BISSELL AeroSlim really packs some power.

It's pretty slick at spot cleaning on hard surfaces, though thicker materials do give it a bit of a struggle.

Now, the filtration system could do with some fine-tuning - it's a tad prone to clogging and needs regular cleaning.

But I've got to tell you, the sturdy build on this thing, despite it being so lightweight, that was a pleasant surprise!

Summing it up, if you're after a quick clean-up tool, you're getting your money's worth with this one.

Now let's chat about portability - that's where the BISSELL AeroSlim truly takes the cake.

It's sleeker than the Black+Decker Dustbuster and feels much lighter than the Eureka EasyClean.

As for the Shark WV201, it's a tight race, but the AeroSlim just nudges it out with its more compact build.

Over the years, I've seen several updates to the BISSELL AeroSlim.

The latest version, the BISSELL AeroSlim 2, brought several improvements to the table - a longer cord, a bigger dust cup, and a more powerful motor.

Plus, they've ironed out a few wrinkles from the earlier models, like making it easier to empty the dust cup and introducing a HEPA filter.

Our Ratings of the BISSELL AeroSlim

    Suction Power 7.3
The suction power is good enough for basic tasks, such as picking up dust, dirt, and pet hair. However, it may not be strong enough for more difficult messes, such as pet hair balls or large crumbs.
    Filtration System Quality 8.2
The filtration system is washable and reusable, which is a plus. It does a good job of trapping dust and dirt, but it may not be as effective at trapping pet hair.
Price & Value for Money 6.4
The Bissell AeroSlim is a relatively affordable handheld vacuum. However, it is not the most affordable option on the market.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.2
The Bissell AeroSlim is made from durable materials and construction. It should be able to withstand everyday use. However, it may not be as durable as some other handheld vacuums on the market.
    Weight & Portability 9.1
The Bissell AeroSlim is very lightweight and portable. It is easy to hold and maneuver, making it ideal for cleaning hard-to-reach areas.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Bissell AeroSlim is a cordless vacuum, which is a major advantage. It allows you to clean anywhere, without the hassle of cords.

    • Urban Apartment Dwellers - The compact design and portability of this handheld vacuum cleaner make it ideal for maintaining cleanliness in small living spaces.
    • Vehicle Owners - Its handheld and cordless nature makes it perfect for regular in-car clean-ups, reaching into corners and crevices easily.
    • Pet Owners - The vacuum's effectiveness at picking up pet hair makes it a practical solution for maintaining a pet-friendly, hair-free environment.

Who Should Avoid the BISSELL AeroSlim?

    • Large Household Owners - The compact design and battery life of the handheld vacuum cleaner may not be sufficient for the large cleaning needs typically associated with big homes.
    • Professional Cleaning Services - The product's power and dust capacity may fall short for heavy-duty, professional cleaning tasks that require advanced and larger-capacity equipment.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

    Pros of the BISSELL AeroSlim

    • Suction Power - Now, I'd give the suction power a solid 7 out of 10. It's not going to pull up your carpet, but for smaller stuff like crumbs, it does a pretty decent job.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - Honestly, it's a superstar when it comes to spot cleaning on hard surfaces like kitchen counters and tables. However, if you're hoping it'll vacuum thick fabrics and materials, you might be a bit disappointed.
    • Filtration System Quality - The two-part filter, one part pleated fabric and the other mesh, gets the job done. It collects dirt pretty well, but just a heads up, you'll need to clean it out fairly often.
    • Durability & Build Quality - The little guy is compact and perfect for all sorts of cleaning tasks. There was that one time the mesh basket of the filter tore on me, but apart from that, it's been pretty sturdy.
    • Price & Value for Money - If you ask me, it's a good bang for your buck. Sure, it has some limitations, but it's quite a performer when it comes to quick and small cleaning tasks. It's definitely worth the price.

    Cons of the BISSELL AeroSlim

    • Weight and Ergonomics - I found the vacuum to be on the heavier side. Its size posed discomfort for my grip, especially because of the absence of a dedicated handle.
    • Component Issues and Cleanability - I noticed a tiny component designed to secure debris in the cup would often detach. The likelihood of it being lost seemed high due to its insecure attachment. Additionally, the vacuum's dust cup had a restrictive capacity, compelling me to empty it frequently.
    • Docking and Charging Design Flaws - The docking system's plastic construction felt flimsy. It also didn't accommodate the nozzle with its attachment, so I had to remove it every time. The short length of the provided charging cable was an inconvenience during my testing sessions.

Our Expert Opinion of the Bissell Featherweight

Just got my hands on the Bissell Featherweight, and boy, is it great for portability.

It's small, but don't be fooled - the suction is surprisingly strong.

It cleans most floor types well, though it does stumble a bit with thicker carpets.

The filtration isn't top of the line, but it does the job.

The build seems sturdy and for the price, you're getting a real bang for your buck.

Putting it against others in its league, like the Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik and Eureka Blaze, the Featherweight's suction steals the show.

It also outshines the Black+Decker Dustbuster with its nifty stick and handheld functions.

In terms of durability, it holds its own, proving it's a strong contender in the budget vacuum arena.

Taking a trip down memory lane to the Featherweight 2033 model, the latest version is clearly an upgrade.

It's really upped the ante in suction power, managing debris more effectively.

Plus, they've fine-tuned the design, making it easier to handle and move around.

I must say, they've done a solid job refining the Featherweight experience.

Our Ratings of the Bissell Featherweight

    Suction Power 8.4
The BISSELL Featherweight Stick Vacuum boasts commendable suction, especially for its size. It consistently picks up everyday household debris and dust effectively, ensuring a cleaner living environment.
    Filtration System Quality 7.2
Its filtration system does an adequate job in capturing small particles, although some might find it less superior compared to higher-end models. Regular maintenance enhances its efficiency.
Price & Value for Money 8.9
With its affordable price point, the BISSELL Featherweight offers solid value for money. For budget-conscious consumers looking for a reliable and efficient cleaning tool, this vacuum is a sensible choice.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.5
The build is sturdy for the most part, but the plastic components can sometimes feel a bit fragile. Proper handling and storage can ensure a longer lifespan.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
Living up to its 'Featherweight' moniker, this vacuum is extremely lightweight, making it a breeze to carry around the home. Its compact design further enhances portability, making storage and movement hassle-free.
    Cord vs Cordless 6.8
The corded design can be restrictive for some users, especially when covering larger areas or moving between rooms. However, it eliminates the need for charging, ensuring consistent power throughout the cleaning session.

    • Urban Apartment Dwellers - Its compact design is perfect for small spaces, offering easy storage and maneuverability in cramped quarters.
    • Pet Owners - The product's efficient suction capacity effectively handles pet hair, reducing allergens and keeping homes cleaner.
    • Busy Professionals - Quick and easy to use, it suits those with tight schedules needing a swift, reliable solution for regular cleanups.

Who Should Avoid the Bissell Featherweight?

    • Large House Owners - The product's limited capacity and cord length might not suffice for extensive cleanups in big houses.
    • Those Needing Deep Cleaning - Its light-duty performance might not meet the needs of those requiring thorough, intensive carpet or upholstery cleaning.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

    Pros of the Bissell Featherweight

    • Impressive Suction Capabilities - The vacuum exhibited a commendable suction, particularly during dusting tasks. It managed to pick up debris efficiently, which enhanced the overall cleaning experience.
    • Quiet Operation - Despite its robust suction, I was pleasantly surprised by its quiet performance. It delivers power without creating much noise, making the cleaning process more enjoyable and less disruptive.
    • Filtration System Quality - After using it, I was amazed at how effectively the filter collected dust and dirt. It felt like the vacuum was getting everything.
    • Durability & Build Quality - One thing that stood out to me was the lack of a rubber drive belt. That makes maintenance less messy and more convenient.
    • Price & Value for Money - For the performance it offers, I see great value in this vacuum. It provides strong cleaning power without hitting the wallet too hard.

    Cons of the Bissell Featherweight

    • Awkward Maneuverability - The vacuum conspicuously lacks swivel wheels. As I tried maneuvering it around corners and furniture, I found it particularly challenging to navigate. This design oversight not only made cleaning more time-consuming but also less enjoyable.
    • Inadequate Performance on Rugs - During my extensive testing, the vacuum consistently struggled on rugs. It not only frequently got caught but also often missed debris that should've been easy to pick up. This proved problematic, especially when considering that many homes feature a mix of hard floors and rugs.
    • Design Flaws Impacting Performance - One aspect that struck me was how the vacuum's design led it to drag particles backward. Especially when I retraced over an area to capture missed spots, it failed to efficiently pick up the debris. Such a flaw might seem minor but significantly impacted the overall cleaning experience, requiring multiple passes for satisfactory results.

Our Expert Opinion of the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean

After giving the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean a whirl, I was floored by its powerful suction - it breezes through cleaning tasks like a champ.

It didn't matter if it was hardwood, tile, or carpet, this little device managed it all effortlessly.

And let's talk about that filtration system - it's spot on at trapping dust and allergens.

Add to that a sturdy, durable build that feels like good value for money.

But what truly surprised me? How light it is! This thing is super portable, and it doesn't drop the ball on performance either.

Now, stacking it up against competitors like the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser and the Dirt Devil Scorpion, our Dustbuster takes the lead with its superior suction power.

Sure, the Eureka EasyClean is light, but it still can't beat the Dustbuster in the weight department.

And none of them could go toe-to-toe with the Dustbuster when it comes to its filtration system.

I've had my hands on the older models too, the Dustbuster 16V and 14.4V.

The latest Quick Clean model is a clear step up. They've addressed the suction power issue from the past models, and it shows.

Plus, the battery life has gotten a nice boost, and the filtration system is even better.

It's clear they're paying attention to what users like us have to say.

Our Ratings of the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean

    Suction Power 7.8
he Dustbuster Quick Clean has a decent amount of suction power for a cordless handheld vacuum. It can easily pick up dust, dirt, and small debris from hard floors, carpets, and upholstery. However, it may not be powerful enough to pick up larger objects or heavy-duty messes.
    Filtration System Quality 7.2
The Dustbuster Quick Clean has a washable HEPA filter that traps dust, dirt, and allergens. This helps to keep your home clean and healthy. However, the filter can be difficult to clean, and it may not be as effective at trapping small particles as a bagless vacuum with a HEPA filter.
Price & Value for Money 8.4
The Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean is a relatively affordable cordless handheld vacuum. It is a good value for the price, and it offers a number of features that are typically found in more expensive models.
    Durability & Build Quality 6.3
The Dustbuster Quick Clean is made of durable materials, but it is not as well-built as some other cordless handheld vacuums. The plastic housing can be easily scratched, and the power button can be difficult to press.
    Weight & Portability 9.1
The Dustbuster Quick Clean is lightweight and portable, making it easy to maneuver around your home. It is also small enough to fit in a drawer or on a shelf when not in use.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Dustbuster Quick Clean is a cordless vacuum, which gives you the freedom to clean your home without being tethered to an outlet. This is a great feature for small spaces and for cleaning up messes on the go.

    • City Dwellers in Small Apartments - This handheld vacuum's compact design is perfect for limited space and easy storage.
    • Owners of Vehicles - Its portable nature makes it ideal for regular car cleanups, reaching into crevices and between seats.
    • Pet Owners - Its quick pick-up abilities are excellent for swiftly dealing with pet hair and small messes around the home.

Who Should Avoid the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean?

    • People Living in Large Households With Heavy Dust & Debris - The compact and lightweight design of this handheld vacuum is ideal for quick, small messes but may not be sufficient for large, high-traffic areas that accumulate a lot of dirt.
    • Those Requiring Extensive Vacuuming of Upholstery or Carpeted Surfaces - The device excels in hard-to-reach spots and quick pick-ups, however, it may not deliver the deep-cleaning power necessary for substantial carpet and upholstery cleaning.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean

    • Impressive Suction Power - I've got to say, this little vacuum packs a punch! It flawlessly picks up everything from hair to small debris and never misses a beat.
    • Works Great on All Surfaces - It's pretty nifty how well it maneuvers around, even in those hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. Perfect for tackling pet hair and those sneaky dust bunnies!
    • Charges up in a Jiffy - One thing I absolutely love is how fast it charges. Battery running low? No problem! Just a quick recharge and I'm back in the cleaning game.
    • Value for Money Is on Point - Comparing it with my pricier handheld vacuum, I'm telling you, this one is a steal. The performance it delivers for the price is unbeatable.
    • So Portable & Easy to Use -This vacuum is a champ when it comes to portability. The compact size is perfect for quick touch-ups, and with the wall-mountable base, storing it is a breeze!

Cons of the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean

    • Not Great With Small Stuff - It's a bit of a bummer that this vacuum struggles with smaller particles like hair and dirt. The suction power is okay, but sometimes it just doesn't cut it.
    • Battery Life Could Use a Boost - Let me tell you, the battery life on this thing is a letdown. Only a month in and it's given up the ghost - won't even charge! And even when it was working, it wouldn't last beyond a quick 10-minute clean.
    • Functionality Isn’t up to Scratch - Here's the real kicker: it barely does anything for carpets, only really works on hard surfaces. And, I've got to keep my finger on the button the entire time. Plus, you wouldn't believe it, but it spits some of the dust back out. Not what you want from your vacuum, that's for sure.

    Other Inexpensive Vacuums I Tested

In our quest to find the ultimate budget vacuum, we also put the Armor All AA255 Wet & Dry Vacuum, the Stanley SL18910P-3 Wet/Dry, and the Powools Car Vacuum to the test, but, regrettably, they didn't quite clinch a spot in our top picks.

    Powools Car Vacuum

After evaluating the Powools Car Vacuum, I can report that its suction strength is just about passable, but definitely leaves room for improvement.

The vacuum's design could use some rethinking, especially when it comes to the dirt cup design - dirt tends to sit in the nozzle and can fall out if the vacuum is jostled, which is far from ideal.

On a positive note, the LED light feature is notably useful, the battery life seems decent, and the crevice tool does come in handy, but overall, it feels like this vacuum might be more suited for light, sporadic use rather than regular, heavy-duty cleaning.

    Stanley SL18910P-3 Wet/Dry

Having put the Stanley SL18910P-3 Wet/Dry Vacuum to the test, I must say, it offers remarkable suction power for its price point.

However, it falls short in areas like the exhaust port, which, lacking a muzzle, is as loud as a jet engine and can kick up dust before you have a chance to vacuum it.

The hose is rather inflexible and short, while the foam filter system feels a bit cheap and is not as easy to manipulate as one might hope.

Armor All AA255 Wet & Dry Vacuum

The Armor All AA255 Wet & Dry Vacuum performs adequately for small, light debris cleanup tasks, but struggles when faced with heavier, stickier substances like wet food particles on upholstery.

It falls short on its wet vacuuming capabilities, particularly in situations of minor flooding, as it requires frequent emptying after approximately half a gallon of water, a process that can become quite tedious.

The vacuum's various attachments and storage capacities are a mixed bag, with some proving useful and convenient, like the small detailing brush, while others, like the large wand and larger brushed attachment, prove to be cumbersome and less effective.

What Cheap Vacuums Should You Avoid?

Based on our firsthand experience, you might want to steer clear of the Eureka Home 3-in-1 Handheld Vac and the CRAFTSMAN 2.5 Gallon Wet/Dry Portable Vac—they've both not lived up to expectations.

    Eureka Home 3-in-1 Handheld Vac

As someone who's tested the Eureka Home 3-in-1 Handheld Vac, I can tell you, it's not all roses.

The motor gave out within seven months and the handle could have fried an egg with how hot it got.

And don't get me started on their customer service – let's just say it's a bit of a merry-go-round!

    CRAFTSMAN 2.5 Gallon Wet/Dry

After giving the CRAFTSMAN 2.5 Gallon Wet/Dry Portable Vac a thorough run, I've got to say, it's a letdown.

The suction's pretty weak, the hose is awkwardly short, and the material isn't up to par—it's deformed in no time!

And trust me, reaching out for support is like pulling teeth—you're just sent in circles with little help.
