Our Expert Opinion of the Shark IQ Robot

Having personally tested the Shark IQ Robot, I can attest to its strong suction power and versatility across various floor types.

Despite its robust capabilities, it’s surprisingly lightweight, enhancing its portability.

Not only is the build quality durable, but the filtration system also efficiently traps minute particles.

Even though it’s somewhat expensive, the overall features and performance justify the cost.

Its suction power notably surpasses competitors like the Roomba S9+.

The Shark IQ Robot shows a more comprehensive cleaning performance, despite the Roborock S6 MaxV’s adept navigation.

Even when compared to the Neato Botvac D7’s excellent filtration, the Shark IQ Robot’s durability remains superior.

Moving from its predecessor, the Shark ION Robot, the Shark IQ has enhanced its suction strength.

With a new superior mapping function, it successfully rectifies past navigation challenges.

Furthermore, it captures even smaller particles, thereby improving air quality.

Our Ratings of the Shark IQ Robot

    Suction Power 7.8
The Shark IQ Robot has a strong suction power, which is good for picking up dirt, dust, and debris from floors and carpets. However, it is not as powerful as some other robot vacuums on the market.
    Filtration System Quality 7.4
The Shark IQ Robot has a HEPA filter that traps allergens and pollutants. However, the filter is not washable, so it will need to be replaced regularly.
Price & Value for Money 8.4
The Shark IQ Robot is priced in the mid-range, which is a bit high compared to some other robot vacuums on the market. However, it does offer a lot of features, such as self-emptying and mapping capabilities.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.3
The Shark IQ Robot is made of durable materials and has a solid build quality. However, some users have reported that the brushes can get tangled easily.
    Weight & Portability 8.4
The Shark IQ Robot is lightweight and portable, making it easy to move around your home.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Shark IQ Robot is a cordless robot vacuum, which means you can use it anywhere in your home without having to worry about getting tangled up in a cord. This is a big advantage, as it allows you to clean your floors without having to move furniture or appliances.

Who’s the Shark IQ Robot For?

    • Pet Owners - Its strong suction and high-quality filtration system effectively handle pet hair and dander.
    • Large Home Dwellers - The superior mapping function makes cleaning large spaces a breeze.
    • Busy Professionals: With its autonomous function and comprehensive cleaning, it allows more time for other tasks.

Who Should Avoid the Shark IQ Robot?

    • Budget Shoppers - The high cost may not be justified for those looking for a more affordable cleaning solution.
    • Small Apartment Dwellers - Its advanced features and capabilities may be overkill for a limited space.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Shark IQ Robot

    • Suction Power - My experience with this vacuum is that it exhibits excellent suction capabilities, effectively cleaning a variety of debris such as hair, large particles, and dust. On hardwood floors, I observed it thoroughly cleaning up to 95% of the surface in a single run. Additionally, it was highly effective in a pet-friendly environment, which speaks volumes about its cleaning efficiency.
    • Filtration System Quality - As someone who values a clean and allergen-free environment, I found the vacuum’s filtration system to be exceptional. It managed to capture large amounts of dust, significantly contributing to a healthier indoor environment. I was able to keep it running for a month or two before I had to empty the debris, which I found very convenient.
    • Durability & Build Quality - During my test, I found the build quality of the vacuum to be commendable. Its durability stood out as it performed consistently well over a long period. Moreover, replacing parts and performing general maintenance were straightforward processes that required no tools. This speaks to its user-friendly design and long-lasting nature.
    • Price & Value for Money - I firmly believe that this vacuum provides excellent value for the price. It holds its own, and even surpasses, more expensive models in terms of maintaining cleanliness, thus reducing the need for manual cleaning.
    • Weight & Portability - In terms of design, the vacuum is easy to maneuver and adept at navigating various furniture and obstacles.

Cons of the Shark IQ Robot

    • Issues with Mapping & Navigation - In my personal experience with the product, I have noticed the mapping feature struggling to accurately map my home. This inconsistency in creating an accurate map has had a direct impact on the robot’s ability to conduct room-by-room cleaning.
    • Inadequate Cleaning Performance & Longevity - Although I found the cleaning performance satisfactory to some extent, I encountered issues when it came to carpets and edge cleaning. The small size of the dustbin has proven to be a hindrance, made worse by the absence of a full-bin sensor.
    • Subpar Integration with Smart Home Features & Limited Scheduling Options - My expectations were let down by the limited verbal commands available via Alexa. There is a clear need for more room-specific commands. The scheduling functionality is also restrictive, allowing for only one cleaning run per day and not permitting users like myself to set the power level. To top it off, the mobile application that is associated with the product has shown a frequent need for restarting due to bugs, creating an inconvenient user experience.

Our Expert Opinion of the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

With remarkable suction power, the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO effortlessly tackles high-pile carpets.

It transitions between hardwood, tile, and carpet, leaving virtually no debris behind.

Notably, its superior filtration system positively impacts the air quality in my home.

I also noted its surprising durability – despite occasional bumps, it showed no signs of damage.

Although it’s a bit pricey, the EVO’s performance makes it a worthy investment.

The EVO handles different floor types with ease, outperforming the Neato Botvac D7 Connected.

It also boasts an automatic dirt disposal system, setting it apart from the Eufy RoboVac G30 Edge.

Notably, the EVO’s durability surpassed the Ecovacs Deebot N79S during my tests.

As a successor to the Roomba i3 and i3+, the EVO impresses with its enhanced navigation, drastically reducing the chances of it getting stuck.

Also, its improved battery life tackles the issue of limited run time seen in previous models.

Our Ratings of the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

    Suction Power 9.4
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO has a strong suction power, which is good for picking up dirt, dust, and debris from all types of surfaces. It also has a HEPA filter that traps allergens and pollutants.
    Filtration System Quality 8.6
The filtration system on the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is good, but it could be better. The HEPA filter does a good job of trapping allergens and pollutants, but the pre-motor filter can get clogged easily.
Price & Value for Money 8.4
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is priced competitively with other robot vacuums on the market. It is a good value for the price, as it offers a lot of features for the price.
    Durability & Build Quality 8.3
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is made of durable materials and has a solid build quality. It is also lightweight and portable, making it easy to use.
    Weight & Portability 9.4

    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a cordless vacuum, which means it is more portable than a corded vacuum. This is a big advantage, as it allows you to clean your home without having to worry about getting tangled up in a cord.

Who’s the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO For?

    • Pet Owners - The powerful suction and high-quality filtration system effectively handle pet hair and dander, maintaining a clean and allergen-free home.
    • Busy Professionals - With its scheduling feature and autonomous operation, it’s ideal for maintaining clean floors despite a hectic schedule.
    • Residents in Multi-Surface Homes - Its ability to seamlessly transition between different floor types like tile, hardwood, and carpet makes it an optimal choice for homes with diverse flooring.

Who Should Avoid the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO?

    • Budget-Conscious Shoppers - The relatively high price tag might not suit those looking for a more cost-effective cleaning solution.
    • Users with Complex Home Layouts - Despite its improved navigation, it may still struggle with intricate home layouts or rooms cluttered with obstacles.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

    • Suction Power - In my extensive experience with this vacuum, its suction power is simply unmatched. It’s been impressive in tackling a broad range of debris, from pet hair to bird seeds and even litter. For those with pets or different types of flooring, this feature will prove particularly beneficial. Furthermore, the vacuum’s robust suction power enables a deep and thorough clean on carpeted surfaces.
    • Filtration System Quality - One aspect of this vacuum that sets it apart is the automatic self-emptying system. As I found, the base effectively removes the collected debris from the vacuum, requiring emptying only every 2-4 months, depending on your home’s dirt level. This innovative feature dramatically reduces daily maintenance, making the cleaning experience much more convenient.
    • Durability & Build Quality - Having tested this vacuum over a significant period, I can vouch for its durability and build quality. Even after a year of regular use, it hasn’t required any replacement parts. An added advantage is the easily disassembled parts, a lifesaver for individuals with long hair that could get entangled in the rotators.
    • Price & Value for Money - Considering the time this vacuum has saved me, and the convenience it provides, it’s a worthy investment. While it may seem pricey, its effectiveness and durability justify the cost, providing excellent value for money.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - A striking feature of this vacuum is its adaptability to various floor types. Whether it’s hard flooring, wood, stone, or rugs, it cleans efficiently. Even high-pile carpets, which are notoriously difficult to clean, are well-handled by this vacuum. There might be a struggle with extremely plush carpets requiring a recharge partway, but it accomplishes the task nonetheless.

Cons of the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

    • Technical Hurdles - In my experience, I encountered several error messages, most frequently an “Error 15,” which required the robot vacuum to reboot during cleaning. I also found the Wi-Fi setup challenging; connecting it to a 2.4 GHz network was not straightforward. I also experienced problems with the auto-empty function and, in numerous instances, the robot failed to return to its base post-cleaning.
    • Cleaning Performance - From a cleaning perspective, I found the robot underwhelming. The vacuum consistently overlooked certain areas, especially around its base, often scattering debris rather than collecting it. Its inability to adapt to altered room layouts was a significant drawback and it failed to clean larger areas efficiently. Despite the presence of the Roomba, I was compelled to follow up with manual cleaning.
    • Inconsistency - I found that the vacuum’s cleaning pattern was erratic; it often missed substantial areas and didn’t adjust well to changes in the room layout. Its cleaning function was prone to sudden stops, and there were instances where it got stuck in open spaces or failed to return to its home base.

    Ideal for Small Spaces

Having personally tested the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S, I can vouch for its superb suction power.

It smoothly navigates across different floor types, ensuring reliable cleaning.

The compact yet durable build is impressive, and so is the efficient filtration system, capturing even the smallest particles.

It might not be the most affordable option, but the quality performance and sturdy build justify the cost.

Its surprisingly lightweight design without sacrificing suction power is an impressive feature.

Compared to the Roomba 675, the ultra-slim Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S has an advantage—it easily sneaks under low furniture.

Its superior suction power outperforms the Deebot N79S, making it a more efficient cleaner.

Even with the Roborock S5 Max’s advanced features, Eufy manages to shine with its quieter operation.

Preceded by models like the RoboVac 11 and 11+, the 11S presents a significant upgrade.

It effectively tackles stubborn dirt with increased suction power.

Additionally, it’s equipped with enhanced navigational algorithms to correct previous models’ erratic movement issues.

Our Ratings of the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S

    Suction Power 8.4
The Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S has a strong suction power, which is good for picking up dirt, dust, and debris from hard floors and carpets. It also has a BoostIQ mode that increases the suction power for more difficult messes.
    Filtration System Quality 7.6
The filtration system on the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S is decent, but it could be better. The pre-motor filter does a good job of catching large particles, but the post-motor filter can get clogged easily.
Price & Value for Money 8.7
The Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S is a good value for the price. It is priced competitively with other robot vacuums on the market.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.3
The build quality on the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S is not the greatest. The plastic parts are a bit flimsy, and the vacuum feels a bit cheap. However, it is still durable enough to withstand everyday use.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
The Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S is lightweight and portable, making it easy to move around your home. It is also small enough to fit under furniture.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S is a cordless robot vacuum, which means it is more portable than a corded vacuum. This is a big advantage, as it allows you to clean your home without having to worry about getting tangled up in a cord.

    • Busy Individuals - With its automated cleaning schedules and self-charging feature, it’s perfect for those who can’t find the time for daily vacuuming.
    • Owners of Homes with Varied Floor Types - Its ability to smoothly transition across different floor types ensures comprehensive cleaning, ideal for homes with a mix of hard floors and carpets.

Who Should Avoid the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S?

    • Tech-skeptics - Those not comfortable with smart technology may find the setup and troubleshooting challenging, making a traditional vacuum a better fit.
    • Owners of High-Pile Carpets and Rugs - The robot vacuum struggles on thick carpets and rugs, limiting its cleaning efficiency in such scenarios.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S

    • Suction Power - After testing the Eufy RoboVac, I can personally attest to its exceptional suction power. The debris it manages to lift off even post-standard vacuuming is noteworthy. I found it particularly convenient to kick up the suction power with just a press of a button on the device. Plus, it surprises me how it can locate and pick up tiny items, like earrings, without causing any harm.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - I’ve been amazed by the RoboVac’s versatility, which shows in its proficiency on a variety of surfaces, including hardwood, linoleum, and carpets of varying piles. The vacuum intelligently avoids certain obstacles, like fluffy rugs, and navigates through thin rugs with ease.
    • Filtration System Quality - With each cleaning cycle, I’ve observed that the dust bin ends up being filled to the brim, reflecting the effectiveness of the RoboVac’s filtration system in trapping and containing dirt and dust particles. I appreciate that it comes with extra filters as part of its accessory pack.
    • Durability and Build Quality - In terms of durability, the Eufy RoboVac didn’t disappoint me. Even after being put through extensive use, it has held up well, thereby earning its moniker of the ‘forever vacuum.’ The easily replaceable battery and an on/off switch to conserve battery life contribute greatly to its longevity. The tempered glass top has remained scratch-free, and the device as a whole continues to perform brilliantly and look great.
    • Price and Value for Money - Based on my personal testing, I believe the RoboVac offers tremendous value for its cost, given its high-end performance and durability. The asking price is justifiable, and the ability to simply replace the battery rather than having to invest in a new vacuum is a huge cost-saving feature that I find highly valuable.

Cons of the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S

    • Problematic Battery Life - Despite having a rechargeable battery, I’ve found that the vacuum faces difficulties with sudden power loss. It displays error signals and abruptly shuts down, even when docked on the charger, raising serious concerns about its battery management and life span.
    • Absence of Sophisticated Features - I’ve noted that the Eufy RoboVac lacks modern features such as Wi-Fi connectivity or a smartphone app, significantly limiting the user’s control and convenience. In comparison, the Shark RV1001AE, which I’ve also tested, offers these features, making the Eufy RoboVac seem outdated.
    • Safety Risks on Elevated Surfaces - When I used this vacuum near stairs or balconies, I found it posed a potential safety hazard. It’s necessary to manually block off these areas, as the vacuum’s sensor may fail to accurately detect the edges and risk falling. This poses both a significant inconvenience and a safety issue, particularly for users with multi-level homes or balconies.

Its performance, coupled with the significant convenience it brings, is a powerful combination. Even as a basic model, it efficiently fulfills the needs of various households, making it a smart and worthwhile investment.

Cons of the iRobot Roomba 694

    • Ineffectual Navigation & Cleaning - Based on my personal experience, this vacuum has demonstrated a struggle navigating around obstacles. It frequently gets stuck on simple transitions, like rugs and furniture, or when moving from hard floors to carpets.
    • Inadequate Battery Performance & Charging - One common issue that I noticed during my hands-on time with the product was its struggle to maintain a charge and independently return to its charging dock. The vacuum often runs out of battery power while stranded in the middle of a room, demonstrating a failure to manage its energy resources efficiently and locate its docking station effectively.
    • High Maintenance Demand - I found that the vacuum requires frequent and intensive cleaning, primarily due to pet hair and other debris that gets entangled in its brushes. The level of maintenance required contradicts the very convenience a robot vacuum is supposed to bring, and it proved to be an inconvenience in my experience with the product.

Pros of the MAMNV Robot Vacuum and Mop

    • Suction Power - From my firsthand experience, the suction power of this vacuum cleaner is truly impressive. It took care of pet hair without breaking a sweat, a challenge that many vacuum cleaners struggle to handle. I was regularly astounded by the sheer amount of dirt and debris it collected in its dust bin, no matter if it was operating on carpets or hard floors.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - During my testing, I discovered one of the vacuum cleaner’s most notable strengths is its adaptability across various floor types. Although its performance on thick carpets could be slightly improved, it made up for this with an exceptional cleaning job on hardwood floors and short-pile carpets.
    • Filtration System Quality - The filtration system of this vacuum cleaner left no room for doubt during my testing. It effectively captures and holds even the tiniest particles, reinforcing the high cleaning efficiency. Even when my floors looked pretty clean to the naked eye, the amount of dirt it collected was astonishing.

Handling larger debris with ease, the vacuum cleaner’s components are simple to attach or replace. All signs point to a durable design that can withstand regular, long-term use.

When considering the cleaning efficiency alongside a price significantly lower than many competitors, I see it as a great investment. Its ability to maintain a clean home makes it a cost-effective solution in the long run.

Cons of the MAMNV Robot Vacuum and Mop

    • Lack of Customization in Cleaning Mode - I found the vacuum’s lack of customization options frustrating. It didn’t allow me to set the type or duration of cleaning during scheduled sessions. This limitation significantly affected its usability and convenience.
    • Issues with Functionality and Performance - During my testing, I found the vacuum cleaner to underperform in multiple areas. Its erratic movement patterns and frequent stalling under furniture were problematic.
    • Poor Smart Capabilities and Connectivity - I was disappointed with the vacuum’s smart features. It struggled to pair with Amazon Alexa, and its cleaning path was haphazard rather than systematic, which undermined its claim of being a smart device. The vacuum also lacked learning features, causing it to repeatedly clean the same areas while overlooking others.

Pros of the Ionvac SmartClean V4

It smoothly transitioned across different types of flooring, overcoming potential obstacles like door jams and cord covers with ease. Its effective cleaning of various surfaces greatly impressed me.
    • Efficient Filtration System - One of the most convenient features I found was the vacuum’s ability to self-empty. Its filtration system proved to be efficient, ensuring the collected debris was properly contained.
    • Fair Durability and Build Quality - So far, the vacuum has demonstrated decent durability, successfully running multiple cleaning cycles without any significant damage or breakdown. However, the overall longevity and robustness of the build quality will be determined over time.

The vacuum offers a good mix of essential features, making it a worthwhile investment.

Cons of the Ionvac SmartClean V4

    • Unsatisfactory Battery Performance and Design - In my experience with the vacuum cleaner, I noticed a consistent issue with the device running out of battery prematurely, before it could return to its docking station. This design flaw often forced me to manually retrieve and recharge the device, making it less convenient than expected.
    • Defective Main Brush Mechanism - When I first unpacked and tested the vacuum cleaner, I discovered the main brush wasn’t spinning at all, indicating a defect right out of the box. This severely compromised the device’s cleaning capabilities, raising questions about its quality control process.
    • Substandard Self-Emptying Feature - Despite its self-emptying feature, I encountered a situation where the vacuum cleaner ran out of power in hard-to-reach places due to a combination of weak battery performance and the inability to self-empty effectively. This further added to the inconvenience and reduced the overall utility of the device.

    • Homeowners with Thick Carpets - The vacuum’s cleaning performance on thick carpets may not be as effective compared to specialized models that offer stronger suction and carpet-specific features.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the OKP Life K2

    • Remarkable Suction Power - During my months of testing this vacuum robot, I was continuously amazed by its ability to collect vast amounts of pet hair. Even when faced with a fluffy husky-German shepherd mix, this machine made a noticeable difference in my daily cleaning routine, impressing me with its robust suction.
    • Exemplary Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Surfaces - The vacuum robot was exceptionally proficient on my hardwood floors, which extended through the living room, dining room, kitchen, and hallway. The large drive wheels were a key asset, enabling the robot to navigate small height variances effortlessly, thereby ensuring efficient cleaning across various floor types, including low-pile carpets.
    • Efficient Filtration System - The vacuum comes with a practical filtration system and even includes spare sweeping arms and filters. Cleaning the sweeping arms was an uncomplicated process; it was just a matter of detaching them, removing any trapped debris, and reattaching them. This reflects the user-friendliness of the design.
    • Superior Lightweight Design & Easy Handling - One of the key features that stood out during my experience with this robot vacuum is its lightweight design. The vacuum’s weight made it a breeze to relocate whenever necessary, even upstairs or downstairs. This feature, coupled with its effective self-navigation, amplifies its portability, enabling it to reach and clean various areas of the house with minimal human intervention.
    • Outstanding Value for Money & Portability - The value for money that this vacuum offers is truly commendable. Its design and weight promote easy movement from one room to another in my apartment. Furthermore, the debris collection box is larger than anticipated, which means I don’t need to empty it frequently. This makes it a convenient option for larger homes. Despite its affordability, the vacuum delivers performance on par with pricier models, proving to be a worthy investment.

Cons of the OKP Life K2

    • Lack of Endurance & Unreliable Performance - In my personal experience testing this device, it quickly became clear that the robot vacuum did not boast the durability that one might expect. It broke down within a few months of use, showing telltale signs of a lack of robustness. Problems such as the robot refusing to power on, failure to charge, and an inability to perform its designated cleaning tasks efficiently were all too common. The battery life, notably shorter than advertised, necessitated frequent recharges, adding to the inconvenience.
    • Unsatisfactory Cleaning & Flawed Navigation - Upon evaluating the vacuum robot’s capabilities, it fell short of expectations in terms of cleaning efficiency and power when compared to other models. It displayed an underwhelming performance in mapping out and cleaning areas thoroughly. There was a tendency for the robot to redundantly clean the same locations while entirely skipping others, impeding its ability to clean a whole room or floor effectively. The shortcomings in its navigation made scheduling a cumbersome task, diminishing the intended convenience of the device.
    • Connectivity Issues & Unresponsive App Support - I encountered difficulties while attempting to connect the robot to Wi-Fi, disrupting its essential functionalities. Equally disconcerting was the company’s support, or lack thereof, through the OKP app. The level of responsiveness was insufficient and left much to be desired, contributing further to an unsatisfactory user experience.

    • Issues with Connectivity - I’ve faced considerable difficulty in connecting the vacuum to Wi-Fi networks, particularly when attempting to connect to 5Ghz networks. This has prevented me from fully utilizing the vacuum’s features and capabilities.

    • Pet Owners - Its powerful suction and effective cleaning performance on different floor types make it ideal for homes with pets, effectively removing pet hair and dander.
    • Busy Professionals - The iLife V3s Pro offers automated cleaning, saving time and effort for busy individuals who want to maintain a clean home without manual vacuuming.
    • Elderly or Physically Limited Individuals - With its user-friendly operation and convenience, it is a great choice for those who may have difficulty with traditional vacuuming methods, providing an effortless cleaning solution.

Who Should Avoid the iLife V3s Pro?

    • Large Homeowners - The iLife V3s Pro’s limited battery life and small dustbin capacity may not be suitable for cleaning larger homes without frequent interruptions for recharging and emptying.
    • Those with Thick Carpets - Due to its lower suction power compared to some competitors, the iLife V3s Pro may not provide optimal cleaning performance on thick carpets, potentially leaving behind debris.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the iLife V3s Pro

    • Impressive Suction Power - The robot vacuum exhibited exceptional suction ability, surpassing the performance of traditional vacuums. It effectively picked up dirt, dust, pet hair, and debris.
    • Outstanding Performance on Different Floor Types - I found the robot vacuum to be highly efficient on various floor surfaces, including hardwood, tile, and low to medium-pile rugs. Although it faced occasional challenges with thick rugs or large thresholds, it effortlessly cleaned under furniture and beds.
    • Effective Filtration System - The vacuum’s filtration system efficiently captured small particles, ensuring a cleaner environment.
    • Excellent Value for Money - This robot vacuum provides exceptional value for its price. It may lack advanced features like app control or mapping, but its efficient performance competently handles tasks typically reserved for pricier models. It delivers clean floors and significant time savings.
    • Decent Weight & Portability - Weighing lightly and boasting a compact design, the robot vacuum is easily portable between rooms and even upstairs.

Cons of the iLife V3s Pro

    • Inadequate Cleaning & Excessive Noise - In my experience, this vacuum falls short in terms of performance, especially when dealing with larger particles. It tends to scatter debris around the room instead of effectively picking it up. Also, its transition from tile to area rugs is far from smooth, as it often pushes or rolls the rugs around instead of navigating them properly. One of the notable drawbacks is the level of noise it produces – it’s almost as loud as a conventional stand-up vacuum.
    • Short Lifespan & Lack of Customer Support - I found the vacuum’s lifespan disappointingly short; it broke down and began malfunctioning only a few weeks into use. In addition, the support provided for repairs and troubleshooting is significantly lacking. The instructions in the user manual are unclear, and reaching out to the manufacturer for assistance proved to be a major challenge.
    • Deficient Navigation & Battery Life - The vacuum’s navigation capabilities are underwhelming. It struggles to return to its docking station and frequently ends up stuck or lost. The battery life is another concern – it takes longer to charge the vacuum than it operates, which greatly limits its cleaning coverage in a single cycle. Even more problematic is its inability to resume cleaning from where it left off after recharging, which further diminishes its efficiency.

    Other Vacuums I Tested

During my testing, I also gave the Shark RV915S Robot, bObsweep PetHair SLAM, and Shark AV2001 AI Robot Vacuum a try, but they didn't quite make the cut for our top robot vacuum picks.

Here is what I found out:

    Shark RV915S Robot

I've had the opportunity to test the Shark RV915S Robot vacuum cleaner, and let me tell you, it has some impressive features.

One standout is its automatic emptying capability when the dustbin is full, allowing it to pick up where it left off without any interruptions.

Plus, it operates quietly, which is a relief compared to other robot vacuums out there.

I was particularly impressed with its ability to effortlessly clean under beds and effectively tackle dog hair, light hair, and dust. It's definitely a convenient and efficient cleaning companion.

    bObsweep PetHair SLAM

Having personally tested the bObsweep PetHair SLAM, I can confidently say it's a significant improvement over its predecessor.

Its short profile allows it to clean in tight spaces, and the enhanced navigation and mapping technology ensure thorough cleaning in every corner of the home.

The ability to create "no sweep" zones without the need for magnetic strips adds convenience.

    Shark AV2001 AI Robot Vacuum

The Shark AV2001 AI Robot Vacuum exceeded my expectations as a convenient solution for pet hair, crumbs, and litter.

While it's not as powerful as a full-size vacuum, it significantly reduces the need for manual cleaning.

Its daily patrols effectively pick up debris, making maintenance much easier and saving valuable time.

What Vacuums for Pet Hair Should You Avoid?

Through our practical knowledge, we would advise against purchasing the Shark AV1010AE and the Roborock S7 Max robot vacuums.

    Here is why:

    Shark AV1010AE

Having personally tested the Shark AV1010AE, I must say it fell short of my expectations.

The "faster mapping" feature proved ineffective, as the vacuum struggled to locate its charging base and failed to recognize important areas of my house.

Additionally, the limited battery life and frequent clogging issues with the dirt evacuation tube left me unsatisfied.

I would recommend considering other Shark models that offer more reliable performance and better features.

    Roborock S7 Max

As someone who has tested the Roborock S7 Max, I must highlight a major drawback: it fails to avoid dog waste, leading to messy situations.

Despite its impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities, this flaw is a significant concern for pet owners.

The object detection system falls short, as it overlooks objects like dog toys and bones.

If you're considering this robot vacuum, especially if you have dogs, be cautious about potential accidents and the challenges they can pose.

    My Recommended Robot Vacuum

Drawing from our experience, the Shark IQ Robot is my top recommendation with powerful suction, versatility, durability, and superior mapping compared to competitors.

With its efficient filtration system and ability to capture even smaller particles, the Shark IQ Robot ensures improved air quality in your home.
