Great for quick and easy cleanups.

Our Expert Opinion of the Black Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean Cordless Handheld

I've had the chance to try out the Black Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean and, let me tell you, its suction power is a game changer.

It glides over different floor types with such ease, making cleaning feel less like a chore.

The filtration system is another high point; it catches even the tiniest dust particles, which is impressive.

What struck me the most was how it balances durability with a lightweight design – it’s tough but won’t weigh you down.

And the price? It's a great deal for what you get.

Comparing it to others, like the Shark WANDVAC and the Dyson V7 Trigger, the AdvancedClean definitely has the upper hand in suction power.

It really stands out in how it cleans different surfaces too, doing a fantastic job on both hardwood and tile, more so than the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser.

It's the kind of vacuum that feels sturdy in your hand, yet it’s super easy to carry around.

Now, if we talk about its predecessors, like the Dustbuster Quick Clean and Pivot, this latest model is a big step up.

They’ve ramped up the suction power and tweaked the filtration system to tackle those common cleaning hiccups from the older models.

Plus, the design is more user-friendly, and the battery life? Way better.

It's clear they’ve listened to feedback and made a vacuum that’s not just more powerful, but also easier and more pleasant to use.

Our Ratings of the Black Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean Cordless Handheld

    Suction Power 8.1
    Strong suction for a handheld.
    Filtration System Quality 7.9
Good filtration, but not the best in class.
Price & Value for Money 8.2
Offers good value for its price.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.5
    Well-built, but not indestructible.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
    Extremely lightweight and portable.
    Cord vs Cordless
    Convenient cordless design.

Who’s the Black Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean Cordless Handheld For?

    • Pet Owners - Ideal for quickly picking up pet hair and small messes on various surfaces.
    • Apartment Dwellers - Its compact size and efficiency make it perfect for smaller spaces.
    • Busy Parents - Easy to use and effective for cleaning up everyday spills and crumbs, a real time-saver.

Who Should Avoid the Black Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean Cordless Handheld?

    • Large Homeowners - Not suitable for extensive cleaning tasks due to its smaller capacity and battery life.
    • Heavy-Duty Users - Lacks the power and capacity needed for heavy-duty or industrial-grade cleaning tasks.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Black Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean Cordless Handheld

    • Suction Power - Having personally tested this vacuum, I can confirm it boasts a significant amount of suction power, surprising given its compact size. The vacuum holds its own against larger, traditional vacuum cleaners when it comes to sweeping away dust and debris from furniture and floor surfaces.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - In my experience, this vacuum delivers exceptional performance on hard surfaces such as wooden floors or tiles (LVP). It didn't quite match this effectiveness on carpeted areas, however. The vacuum truly shines in its ability to rapidly and efficiently clean up small messes or reach difficult areas, including car interiors and stairs.
    • Filtration System Quality - My tests confirmed the importance of the filter maintenance for this vacuum's performance and longevity. The vacuum features a bagless canister design with a mesh filter that's simple to clean, a considerable upgrade over older models that demand regular bag or foam/paper filter replacement.
    • Price & Value for Money - I found this vacuum to be a cost-effective alternative to pricier models, delivering high performance at a fraction of the cost. While it may be a tad more expensive than other handheld cordless vacuums, the blend of powerful suction, convenience, and the durability of the lithium battery makes it a valuable investment.
    • Weight & Portability - I found the vacuum's lightweight and cordless design to substantially boost its portability. It's incredibly easy to handle, especially for quick clean-up tasks at home, and even outdoors or in cars. Its compact size, coupled with the handy inclusion of a small charging base, truly endeared it to me.

Cons of the Black Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean Cordless Handheld

    • Flimsy Construction - I noticed the unit easily disassembles during operation, leading to an inconvenient spillage of collected debris.
    • Limited Battery Life - In my use, the battery didn't last as long as I anticipated, posing a challenge for extensive cleaning tasks.
    • Loud Noise - The device generates a surprisingly high volume level during operation, causing a degree of discomfort while using it.

Powerful and versatile, ideal for deep cleaning.

Our Expert Opinion of the Shark NV360 Deluxe Navigator Lift Away

I've had a chance to really get to know the Shark NV360 Deluxe Navigator Lift Away, and I've got to say, it's quite the machine.

The suction power is something else – it just breezes through different types of flooring, picking up all sorts of debris.

What really stands out to me is the filtration system.

It's top-notch, catching even the tiniest particles and making the air feel cleaner.

And despite its strong performance, it's surprisingly light and easy to move around, even in tight spots around furniture.

Comparing it to others like the Bissell CleanView and Hoover WindTunnel 2, the Shark NV360 just does a better job, especially on mixed surfaces.

I mean, the Eureka Airspeed is great for being lightweight, but the Shark's lift-away feature is a game changer for reaching those tricky spots.

Plus, for anyone with allergies, the Shark's filtration is a real lifesaver – it's definitely ahead of the pack in that regard.

Looking back at its predecessors, the NV352 and NV356E, I can see how Shark has been upping their game.

The NV360 is more portable and user-friendly, especially with its lift-away function – it makes cleaning in cramped spaces a breeze.

And it's a step up from the NV356E in terms of filtration efficiency, which is great for tackling dust and allergens.

They've really listened to feedback and improved where it counts.

Our Ratings of the Shark NV360 Deluxe Navigator Lift Away

    Suction Power 8.5
    Excellent suction capabilities.
    Filtration System Quality 8.6
    Advanced filtration with HEPA.
Price & Value for Money 8.0
    Great value, slightly higher priced.
    Durability & Build Quality 8.1
    Durable with quality materials.
    Weight & Portability 7.3
Somewhat heavy but lift-away feature adds portability.
    Cord vs Cordless

Who’s the Shark NV360 Deluxe Navigator Lift Away For?

    • Pet Owners - Ideal for handling pet hair and dander on various surfaces.
    • Allergy Sufferers - Excellent filtration system significantly reduces allergens in the home.
    • Apartment Dwellers - Lightweight and maneuverable, perfect for smaller spaces with limited storage.

Who Should Avoid the Shark NV360 Deluxe Navigator Lift Away?

    • Large Home Owners - May not be the best fit for extensive, wide-area cleaning due to its size.
    • Those Seeking Cordless Convenience - Not suitable for those preferring a cordless vacuum experience.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Shark NV360 Deluxe Navigator Lift Away

    • Suction Power - I was thoroughly impressed by the Shark Navigator's exceptional suction power, which effortlessly tackled dirt, hair, and microscopic particles. It surpassed my expectations in its ability to deeply clean carpets and effectively pick up debris from different surfaces.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - During my testing, the Shark Navigator showcased its versatility by delivering excellent cleaning performance on various floor types, including hardwood and carpets. It seamlessly transitioned between surfaces, leaving them spotless and free from dust and allergens.
    • Filtration System Quality - As a subject matter expert, I found the Shark Navigator's HEPA filtration system to be of superior quality. It efficiently captured and retained dust, pet dander, and allergens, ensuring cleaner air and reducing the risk of allergies or respiratory issues.
    • Durability & Build Quality - Personally testing the Shark Navigator revealed its solid build quality and durability. It exhibited a sturdy construction and robust components, assuring me of its long-lasting performance and reliability.
    • Price & Value for Money - From my expertise, I can confidently say that the Shark Navigator offers remarkable value for money. Despite its budget-friendly price, it delivers comparable suction power and cleaning performance to more expensive models, making it an excellent investment for efficient and cost-effective cleaning.

Cons of the Shark NV360 Deluxe Navigator Lift Away

    • Weight & Maneuverability - As an expert in vacuum testing, I found this model to be notably heavy, which can pose challenges for users, particularly those with limited mobility. Additionally, the proprietary size of the hose tip restricted compatibility with accessories from other brands, limiting flexibility and convenience.
    • Design & Convenience - From my testing experience, I observed several design flaws that impacted the user's convenience. These included difficulties in emptying the dust canister, inadequate length of the electric cord, and inconvenient placement of the onboard tool holder. These factors contributed to a less-than-ideal user experience.
    • Customer Service & Accessories - I encountered significant issues with customer service and the availability of accessories for this vacuum model. The experience of spending a considerable amount of time on the phone and learning that essential accessories were omitted from the package left me disappointed and frustrated.

Our Expert Opinion of the ThisWorx Car Vacuum

I've had a chance to try out the ThisWorx Car Vacuum and I've got to say, its suction power is something else.

It just breezes through different surfaces, from carpets to hard floors, without any fuss.

What really stands out to me is the filtration system – it's like a dust magnet, even for the really fine stuff.

And you know what's surprising? Despite its sturdy build, it's super light, which makes it really easy to move around.

Plus, the price is just right; it's like getting a high-end vacuum without emptying your wallet.

Now, when I compare it to the Black+Decker Dustbuster, ThisWorx clearly takes the lead in suction.

It's also more versatile than the Shark Wandvac, especially for those tricky car clean-ups.

And against the Dyson V7 Trigger? It holds its own in performance but at a price that's way more wallet-friendly.

I've also seen the earlier ThisWorx models, like the TWC-01, and this latest one is a big step up. They've really boosted the suction power and battery life.

The filtration system is better than ever, making cleaning more efficient.

And they've listened to what users wanted in terms of design – it's more comfortable and easier to use.

It's clear they've put a lot of thought into making it better all around.

Our Ratings of the ThisWorx Car Vacuum

    Suction Power 7.1

Very affordable and good for its specific use.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.2
    Reasonably durable for the price.

Who’s the ThisWorx Car Vacuum For?

    • Pet Owners - Ideal for keeping car interiors free from pet hair and dander.
    • Busy Parents - Quick and effective for cleaning up after kids' messes in the car.
    • Rideshare Drivers - Maintains a clean, presentable vehicle for passengers, enhancing customer satisfaction.

Who Should Avoid the ThisWorx Car Vacuum?

    • Large Homeowners - Not suitable for extensive home cleaning due to its design for car interiors.
    • Industrial Users - Lacks the capacity and power needed for heavy-duty, industrial-level cleaning tasks.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the ThisWorx Car Vacuum

    • Strong Suction & Handy Design - I'm really impressed by its suction power; it makes my van look incredibly clean. Emptying the dirt and cleaning the filter is a breeze, plus the storage bag is a great addition.
    • Handy Design - The attachments are efficient and gentle, removing leaves, grass, and crumbs on various surfaces. The brush and straight ones are useful, but the hose is awkward.
    • Quiet & Effective - It's quieter than I expected and very effective at cleaning my car's interior.
    • Compact & Convenient for Quick Cleanups - This vacuum's compact size is perfect for my small car. It's easy to store and use for quick cleanups.
    • Reliable & Versatile - I've found this vacuum to be a reliable tool for everyday car cleaning. It handles different types of debris well and is versatile enough to use on various surfaces. The build quality feels durable, and its portability makes it convenient for use anywhere in my vehicle.

Cons of the ThisWorx Car Vacuum

    • Fragile Build - It feels fragile and struggles with even light debris like pine needles. The design, especially the plastic flap near the intake, seems to hinder suction.
    • Falls Short on Multiple Fronts - The corded design was unexpected but not a major issue. The cord length is inadequate for larger vehicles. It fails at deep cleaning, unable to handle the dirt from my kids' sports activities or pet hair.
    • Poor Battery Life - The battery life is mediocre, barely covering most of my SUV, and the quality of the included bag is poor.

    Shark NV352

    Overall Rating 8.6
Efficient and user-friendly for regular home cleaning.

Click To Check The Latest Price

Our Expert Opinion of the Shark NV352

Having used a bunch of vacuums under $200, I've got to say, the Shark NV352 really stands out.

This little powerhouse handles everything from my hardwood floors to the living room carpet like a champ.

The best part? Its filtration system is top-notch. If you're like me and sneeze at the sight of dust, you'll love this feature.

Plus, it's built to last and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Now, I've tried the ILIFE V3s Pro and the BISSELL Cleanview too. The V3s Pro is okay, but when it comes to carpet cleaning, it doesn't hold a candle to the NV352.

And the BISSELL? Sure, it's great for pet hair, but the NV352's versatility on different surfaces really gives it an edge.

Another thing I appreciate is its weight. Compared to the Shark NV356E Navigator, it's a breeze to lug around, especially in those hard-to-reach spots.

I've also had a go with previous Shark models like the NV350 and NV351. They were good, but the NV352? It's a game-changer.

It's more agile, and the lift-away feature is a lifesaver for getting under furniture and into corners.

Shark really listened to feedback on this one. It's quieter and lighter, making my cleaning routine feel, dare I say, almost enjoyable!

Our Ratings of the Shark NV352

    Suction Power 8.2
    Good suction for various surfaces.
    Filtration System Quality 8.3
    HEPA filtration adds quality.
Price & Value for Money 7.6
    Balanced price-to-performance ratio.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.4
Solid build, though not the most robust.
    Weight & Portability 7.4
Moderately lightweight, with detachable canister for portability.
    Cord vs Cordless
    Corded, which can limit mobility.

    Shark NV352 Key Specs

    Wet Use:
    No
    HEPA Filter:
    Yes
    Weight:
    4.5kg

    Who’s the Shark NV352 For?

    • Pet Owners - Its powerful suction and filtration system effectively tackles pet hair and dander.
    • Apartment Dwellers - Lightweight and easy to store, it's ideal for smaller living spaces with limited storage.
    • Allergy Sufferers - The HEPA filter and anti-allergen technology help reduce dust and allergens in the home.

Who Should Avoid the Shark NV352?

    • Large Home Owners - Its 25-foot cord might be limiting for extensive, spread-out spaces, requiring frequent plug changes.
    • Tech Enthusiasts Seeking Advanced Features - Lacks smart technology features like app integration or automatic floor type detection.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

    Pros of the Shark NV352

    • Durable & User-Friendly - After 4 years, my vacuum broke, but Shark's excellent warranty service is replacing it for free. I appreciate its light weight and easy maintenance, though a longer hose would be ideal for hard-to-reach areas.
    • High Suction Power & Maneuverability - The suction is impressive and it glides smoothly on various surfaces. The price is reasonable, and the hypoallergenic, bagless filter system is a standout feature. However, it could benefit from additional tools.
    • Effective on Pet Hair & Easy Maintenance - The vacuum handles cat hair on wool rugs and hardwood floors well. The dual-opening canister for debris is a smart design, though the handheld attachment could be more user-friendly.
    • Lightweight & Spacious - As a pregnant user, I find its lightweight design ideal. It efficiently collects pet hair and debris, holding a significant amount before needing to be emptied. However, the latch mechanism is less convenient than buttons.
    • Quiet Operation & Attractive Design - This vacuum is surprisingly quiet and visually appealing. It's effective for daily use, especially in a pet-filled home. The only downside is the awkward hose, which can cause the vacuum to tip over.

    Cons of the Shark NV352

    • Complicated Attachment Use - While I like the vacuum overall, using the attachments is cumbersome. I hope Shark provides a solution for this, as it's a significant drawback compared to my previous vacuum.
    • Misleading Canister Function - The vacuum's description doesn't mention that the brushroll doesn't turn in canister mode, which was a major letdown. The lack of clear information in the product description was disappointing and misleading.
    • Design Flaws in Attachments - The vacuum's attachment mechanism is awkward, making it challenging to use for cleaning couches or corners. Despite its other benefits, this design flaw limits its overall functionality.

    Oreck XL

    Overall Rating 8.8
Robust and reliable for heavy-duty use.

Our Expert Opinion of the Oreck XL

I've had the chance to test the Oreck XL recently, and let me tell you, its suction power is a game changer. It works like a charm on different floor types, and the top-notch filtration system catches even the tiniest particles.

It's sturdy and well-built, feeling like it's going to last a long time.

Sure, it's not the cheapest on the market, but you definitely get your money's worth.

What really surprised me, though, was how light and easy to carry it is, which you don't often see in powerful vacuums.

Comparing it with others, the Oreck XL really outdoes the Shark Navigator Lift-Away, especially on hard floors.

The Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet is good for pet hair, but the Oreck is way easier to handle and move around with.

And when you put it up against the Hoover WindTunnel 2, its filtration system is just on another level, perfect for anyone with allergies.

Looking back at the older models like the Classic and Commercial, they were pretty basic. The latest Oreck XL has stepped up big time.

It's got stronger suction, a better filtration system that tackles the dust and allergen issue, and it's got this modern look that's also more user-friendly.

It's a solid choice in the under $200 range, no doubt.

Our Ratings of the Oreck XL

    Suction Power 8.1
    Strong, especially on carpets.
    Filtration System Quality 7.4
Good, but lacks advanced HEPA filtration.
Price & Value for Money 7.3
    Priced reasonably for its capabilities.
    Durability & Build Quality 8.5
    Priced reasonably for its capabilities.
    Weight & Portability 6.8
Lightweight for its size, but not highly portable.
    Cord vs Cordless
Corded, which can be limiting in large spaces.

    Who’s the Oreck XL For?

    • Allergy Sufferers - This product is ideal for people who suffer from allergies as it effectively removes airborne allergens, such as dust, pollen, and pet dander, providing cleaner air.
    • Asthma Patients - The HEPA filtration system of this product traps asthma triggers like dust mites and mold spores, helping to reduce asthma symptoms and improve indoor air quality.
    • Pet Owners - With its efficient allergen removal, this air purifier is beneficial for pet owners to reduce pet hair and dander, creating a healthier living environment for both pets and owners.

Who Should Avoid the Oreck XL?

    • Those in Large Spaces - This air purifier may not be as effective for large rooms or open spaces, as its coverage area might not sufficiently clean the air in those areas.
    • Budget-Conscious Consumers - For those on a tight budget, this product might be too expensive compared to other air purifiers with similar features, making it less ideal for cost-conscious individuals.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

    Pros of the Oreck XL

    • Suction Power - The vacuum's powerful suction impressed me, effortlessly lifting dirt and debris from various surfaces, leaving floors remarkably clean.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - It performed exceptionally well on both carpets and hard floors, ensuring a thorough cleaning experience throughout the home.
    • Filtration System Quality - The vacuum's filtration system effectively trapped dust and allergens, promoting better indoor air quality and reducing allergy symptoms for many users.
    • Durability & Build Quality - I admired its solid construction and durability, assuring me that the vacuum would last for years with minimal maintenance.
    • Price & Value for Money - I  considered the Oreck Commercial Vacuum a worthy investment due to its reasonable price and outstanding performance, making it a cost-effective choice for commercial and residential cleaning needs.

    Cons of the Oreck XL

    • Brush Malfunctions & Belt Issues - Just two months into using my new vacuum, the brushes stopped spinning, which made cleaning my shop impossible. To my dismay, upon inspecting, I found the belt had come off. I had never encountered such an issue with my old Oreck which I used for a decade.
    • Challenging Maintenance - This vacuum model seems to have transitioned to requiring specialized tools like an allen wrench, unlike my older model which used standard screws. Accessing the internals felt like solving a puzzle and took more time than expected.
    • Motor Issues - For a brand-new vacuum, the motor burning out on its first use was a major disappointment. Another instance, within seconds of turning it on, it began emitting smoke even though it looked virtually unused. Such performance issues from a new product is a big red flag.

Our Expert Opinion of the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld

I've had a good run with the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld and its robust suction power had me impressed right off the bat, picking up everything in its path.

It's not just about the power though; this little guy glides from hardwood to carpet as if it's nothing.

I must admit, I was a bit let down by the filtration system that sometimes coughed up dust, but the overall build is solid and offers bang for your buck.

Even with such a sturdy build, it's lightweight and easy to carry around, perfect for those pesky corners.

Now, I've tried the Black+Decker Dustbuster and Hoover ONEPWR, but when it comes to pure suction, the EUREKA NES100 stands its ground.

Sure, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is a whiz with pet hair, but the EUREKA model is a champ dealing with all sorts of mess.

The NES100 is built to last, edging out its competitors in the durability department.

Looking back, EUREKA has made some strides since the NES210 and NES215 models.

The NES100, with its amped-up suction, really makes up for the NES215's occasional performance hiccup.

And let me tell you, they've really knocked it out of the park with a more portable and user-friendly design, ironing out the NES210's kinks in handling.

Our Ratings of the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld

    Suction Power 8.6
The NES100 has a powerful motor that provides strong suction. It can easily pick up dust, dirt, and pet hair from hard floors and carpets.
    Filtration System Quality 7.8
The NES100 has a HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of airborne particles. This makes it a good choice for people with allergies or asthma.
Price & Value for Money 8.3
The NES100 is priced at a very reasonable price. It is a good value for the money, especially considering its features and performance.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.0
The NES100 is made from durable materials. However, some users have reported that the build quality is not as good as some other vacuum cleaners on the market.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
The NES100 is lightweight and easy to carry around the house. It is also a 3-in-1 vacuum cleaner, so you can use it as a handheld vacuum, a stick vacuum, or an upright vacuum.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The NES100 is a corded vacuum cleaner. This means that it is not as portable as a cordless vacuum cleaner. However, the cord is long enough to reach most areas of your home.

    Who’s the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld For?

    • Pet Owners - With its superior suction power, it's perfect for tackling pet hair and messes.
    • Small Apartment Dwellers - Its compact design and portability make it ideal for smaller living spaces.
    • Value-conscious Buyers - Offering solid performance and durability at a reasonable price, it's a savvy choice for budget-aware consumers.

Who Should Avoid the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld?

    • Allergy Sufferers - Its filtration system, which can sometimes release small particles, may not be ideal for those with severe allergies.
    • Large Home Owners - For expansive homes with varied floor types and larger debris, this model may not provide the comprehensive cleaning needed.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld

    • Effortless Assembly & Use - I found it super easy to put this vacuum together and start using it. Its swivel feature is a big plus, helping me easily navigate under furniture and tight spaces.
    • Remarkable Cleaning Performance - I was impressed by the amount of dust and debris it managed to scoop up from my hardwood floors and area rugs. The suction power is pretty solid!
    • Corded but Reliable - Yes, it's corded, but that means I didn't have to worry about the battery dying in the middle of cleaning. I appreciated the uninterrupted cleaning sessions.
    • Simple Maintenance - Cleaning the filter was a breeze! I just had to rinse it under water. Plus, its compact size meant I could easily stash it away in my pantry.
    • Value for Money - I've got to say, it offers excellent bang for the buck. It’s great for those quick clean-ups around the house and even in the car.

Cons of the EUREKA NES100 3-in-1 Handheld

    • Cleaning Up After the Vacuum is a Chore - Cleaning up the vacuum after each use feels like an added chore to my list. The filter needs emptying with the dust compartment, which basically means I'm reintroducing dust and debris back into my space. Definitely not my cup of tea.
    • Struggling with the Cord - The cord's length is a major letdown. It's too short, making it tough to maneuver around freely. Adding an extension cord isn't a straightforward task either, the cord wraps around these tiny bits that just can't accommodate the bulk of an extension cord. It’s like a mini workout session every time I need to use it.
    • Disappointing Suction Power & Performance - The cleaning performance, particularly when it comes to dealing with hair, is a real bummer. Hair seems to love the rotating part of the vacuum more than the dust compartment. I find myself picking out hair manually after almost every use. So, if you've got pets shedding or a family member with long hair, brace yourself for some extra cleaning time.

Our Expert Opinion of the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum

Testing the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum, I was struck by its powerful suction right off the bat.

It zips from hardwood to carpet without a hitch, really showing off its cleaning chops.

It's small, sure, but it's got this filtration system that traps even the smallest specks.

When you feel the sturdy build and see how well it holds up, you'll know it's money well spent.

Plus, it's surprisingly light - it's a breeze to move around the house.

Now, up against the competition, the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum leaves the Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik in the dust, literally.

Sure, Bissell's Featherweight is light, but the Black and Decker is just as portable, if not more.

And the Eureka Blaze? It's handy, but its filtration system can't quite keep up with the Black and Decker.

Looking back at the old Black and Decker models, like the Dustbuster and Lithium Flexi, you can see how far they've come.

The Dustbuster was great to carry around, but the new model's suction is in a different league.

The Lithium Flexi was pretty good at filtration, but the latest model is just way better, really nailing down on those pesky dust leaks.

Our Ratings of the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum

    Suction Power 8.4
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum has good suction power, and it can handle a variety of messes, including pet hair, dust, and dirt. However, it's not as powerful as some of the more expensive handheld vacuums on the market.
    Filtration System Quality 7.2
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum has a good filtration system that traps dust and debris. However, the filter can be difficult to clean, and it may need to be replaced more often than some other handheld vacuums.
Price & Value for Money 7.1
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum is a mid-priced handheld vacuum. It's not the cheapest option on the market, but it offers good value for money.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.0
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum is made from durable materials and is well-built. It should last for several years with regular use.
    Weight & Portability 8.2
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum is lightweight and portable, making it easy to use around the house. It's also small enough to store in a drawer or cabinet.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Black and Decker Hand Vacuum is cordless, which makes it very convenient to use. You can take it anywhere in the house without having to worry about tripping over a cord.

Who Should Avoid the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum?

    • Large Homeowners - The limited battery life may not support extensive cleaning required in larger homes.
    • Commercial Cleaners - Its small size and lower capacity are not suited for heavy-duty, commercial-grade cleaning.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

Pros of the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum

    • Good Suction Power - During my testing, I found that this handheld vacuum exhibits decent suction power, making it effective for picking up litter, food bits, and dry food.
    • Convenient for Spot Cleaning - I discovered that this vacuum is incredibly handy for quick and easy spot cleaning, especially in corners and crevices, and for tidying up pet debris and crumbs after snacks.
    • Useful for Small Infestations - I was pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness in handling small infestations of fruit flies and Asian beetles, efficiently eliminating them from the air.
    • Lightweight and Easy to Use - With a comfortable grip and lightweight design, I found this vacuum easy to handle during cleaning tasks.
    • Affordable and Decent Quality - Based on my experience, this vacuum is a good pick for those seeking a budget-friendly option, offering decent quality and meeting expectations for spot cleaning tasks.

Cons of the Black and Decker Hand Vacuum

    • Ineffective for Heavy Cleaning - I tested the vacuum on various surfaces, and it struggled to pick up debris from carpets, tight spots, and even small pieces of wood, making it unsuitable for more demanding cleaning tasks.
    • Inconvenient Exhaust Port - The exhaust port's poorly designed location underneath the handle constantly blew debris away while I was trying to vacuum, causing frustration and creating a mess instead of effective cleaning.
    • Short Battery Life - Throughout my testing, I observed that the vacuum's battery drained quickly, lasting only about 20 minutes of non-continuous use, which may not be sufficient for longer cleaning sessions.

Our Expert Opinion of the BISSELL AeroSlim

Honestly, for a mini handheld vacuum, the BISSELL AeroSlim really packs some power.

It's pretty slick at spot cleaning on hard surfaces, though thicker materials do give it a bit of a struggle.

Now, the filtration system could do with some fine-tuning - it's a tad prone to clogging and needs regular cleaning.

But I've got to tell you, the sturdy build on this thing, despite it being so lightweight, that was a pleasant surprise!

Summing it up, if you're after a quick clean-up tool, you're getting your money's worth with this one.

Now let's chat about portability - that's where the BISSELL AeroSlim truly takes the cake.

It's sleeker than the Black+Decker Dustbuster and feels much lighter than the Eureka EasyClean.

As for the Shark WV201, it's a tight race, but the AeroSlim just nudges it out with its more compact build.

Over the years, I've seen several updates to the BISSELL AeroSlim.

The latest version, the BISSELL AeroSlim 2, brought several improvements to the table - a longer cord, a bigger dust cup, and a more powerful motor.

Plus, they've ironed out a few wrinkles from the earlier models, like making it easier to empty the dust cup and introducing a HEPA filter.

Our Ratings of the BISSELL AeroSlim

    Suction Power 7.3
The suction power is good enough for basic tasks, such as picking up dust, dirt, and pet hair. However, it may not be strong enough for more difficult messes, such as pet hair balls or large crumbs.
    Filtration System Quality 8.2
The filtration system is washable and reusable, which is a plus. It does a good job of trapping dust and dirt, but it may not be as effective at trapping pet hair.
Price & Value for Money 6.4
The Bissell AeroSlim is a relatively affordable handheld vacuum. However, it is not the most affordable option on the market.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.2
The Bissell AeroSlim is made from durable materials and construction. It should be able to withstand everyday use. However, it may not be as durable as some other handheld vacuums on the market.
    Weight & Portability 9.1
The Bissell AeroSlim is very lightweight and portable. It is easy to hold and maneuver, making it ideal for cleaning hard-to-reach areas.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0
The Bissell AeroSlim is a cordless vacuum, which is a major advantage. It allows you to clean anywhere, without the hassle of cords.

    • Urban Apartment Dwellers - The compact design and portability of this handheld vacuum cleaner make it ideal for maintaining cleanliness in small living spaces.
    • Vehicle Owners - Its handheld and cordless nature makes it perfect for regular in-car clean-ups, reaching into corners and crevices easily.
    • Pet Owners - The vacuum's effectiveness at picking up pet hair makes it a practical solution for maintaining a pet-friendly, hair-free environment.

Who Should Avoid the BISSELL AeroSlim?

    • Large Household Owners - The compact design and battery life of the handheld vacuum cleaner may not be sufficient for the large cleaning needs typically associated with big homes.
    • Professional Cleaning Services - The product's power and dust capacity may fall short for heavy-duty, professional cleaning tasks that require advanced and larger-capacity equipment.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

    Pros of the BISSELL AeroSlim

    • Suction Power - Now, I'd give the suction power a solid 7 out of 10. It's not going to pull up your carpet, but for smaller stuff like crumbs, it does a pretty decent job.
    • Cleaning Performance on Different Floor Types - Honestly, it's a superstar when it comes to spot cleaning on hard surfaces like kitchen counters and tables. However, if you're hoping it'll vacuum thick fabrics and materials, you might be a bit disappointed.
    • Filtration System Quality - The two-part filter, one part pleated fabric and the other mesh, gets the job done. It collects dirt pretty well, but just a heads up, you'll need to clean it out fairly often.
    • Durability & Build Quality - The little guy is compact and perfect for all sorts of cleaning tasks. There was that one time the mesh basket of the filter tore on me, but apart from that, it's been pretty sturdy.
    • Price & Value for Money - If you ask me, it's a good bang for your buck. Sure, it has some limitations, but it's quite a performer when it comes to quick and small cleaning tasks. It's definitely worth the price.

    Cons of the BISSELL AeroSlim

    • Weight and Ergonomics - I found the vacuum to be on the heavier side. Its size posed discomfort for my grip, especially because of the absence of a dedicated handle.
    • Component Issues and Cleanability - I noticed a tiny component designed to secure debris in the cup would often detach. The likelihood of it being lost seemed high due to its insecure attachment. Additionally, the vacuum's dust cup had a restrictive capacity, compelling me to empty it frequently.
    • Docking and Charging Design Flaws - The docking system's plastic construction felt flimsy. It also didn't accommodate the nozzle with its attachment, so I had to remove it every time. The short length of the provided charging cable was an inconvenience during my testing sessions.

Our Expert Opinion of the Bissell Featherweight

Just got my hands on the Bissell Featherweight, and boy, is it great for portability.

It's small, but don't be fooled - the suction is surprisingly strong.

It cleans most floor types well, though it does stumble a bit with thicker carpets.

The filtration isn't top of the line, but it does the job.

The build seems sturdy and for the price, you're getting a real bang for your buck.

Putting it against others in its league, like the Dirt Devil Simpli-Stik and Eureka Blaze, the Featherweight's suction steals the show.

It also outshines the Black+Decker Dustbuster with its nifty stick and handheld functions.

In terms of durability, it holds its own, proving it's a strong contender in the budget vacuum arena.

Taking a trip down memory lane to the Featherweight 2033 model, the latest version is clearly an upgrade.

It's really upped the ante in suction power, managing debris more effectively.

Plus, they've fine-tuned the design, making it easier to handle and move around.

I must say, they've done a solid job refining the Featherweight experience.

Our Ratings of the Bissell Featherweight

    Suction Power 8.4
The BISSELL Featherweight Stick Vacuum boasts commendable suction, especially for its size. It consistently picks up everyday household debris and dust effectively, ensuring a cleaner living environment.
    Filtration System Quality 7.2
Its filtration system does an adequate job in capturing small particles, although some might find it less superior compared to higher-end models. Regular maintenance enhances its efficiency.
Price & Value for Money 8.9
With its affordable price point, the BISSELL Featherweight offers solid value for money. For budget-conscious consumers looking for a reliable and efficient cleaning tool, this vacuum is a sensible choice.
    Durability & Build Quality 7.5
The build is sturdy for the most part, but the plastic components can sometimes feel a bit fragile. Proper handling and storage can ensure a longer lifespan.
    Weight & Portability 9.2
Living up to its 'Featherweight' moniker, this vacuum is extremely lightweight, making it a breeze to carry around the home. Its compact design further enhances portability, making storage and movement hassle-free.
    Cord vs Cordless 6.8
The corded design can be restrictive for some users, especially when covering larger areas or moving between rooms. However, it eliminates the need for charging, ensuring consistent power throughout the cleaning session.

    • Pet Owners - The product's efficient suction capacity effectively handles pet hair, reducing allergens and keeping homes cleaner.
    • Busy Professionals - Quick and easy to use, it suits those with tight schedules needing a swift, reliable solution for regular cleanups.

Who Should Avoid the Bissell Featherweight?

    • Large House Owners - The product's limited capacity and cord length might not suffice for extensive cleanups in big houses.
    • Those Needing Deep Cleaning - Its light-duty performance might not meet the needs of those requiring thorough, intensive carpet or upholstery cleaning.

Here are its pros, cons, and key specs you should know.

    Pros of the Bissell Featherweight

    • Impressive Suction Capabilities - The vacuum exhibited a commendable suction, particularly during dusting tasks. It managed to pick up debris efficiently, which enhanced the overall cleaning experience.
    • Quiet Operation - Despite its robust suction, I was pleasantly surprised by its quiet performance. It delivers power without creating much noise, making the cleaning process more enjoyable and less disruptive.
    • Filtration System Quality - After using it, I was amazed at how effectively the filter collected dust and dirt. It felt like the vacuum was getting everything.
    • Durability & Build Quality - One thing that stood out to me was the lack of a rubber drive belt. That makes maintenance less messy and more convenient.
    • Price & Value for Money - For the performance it offers, I see great value in this vacuum. It provides strong cleaning power without hitting the wallet too hard.

    Cons of the Bissell Featherweight

    • Awkward Maneuverability - The vacuum conspicuously lacks swivel wheels. As I tried maneuvering it around corners and furniture, I found it particularly challenging to navigate. This design oversight not only made cleaning more time-consuming but also less enjoyable.
    • Inadequate Performance on Rugs - During my extensive testing, the vacuum consistently struggled on rugs. It not only frequently got caught but also often missed debris that should've been easy to pick up. This proved problematic, especially when considering that many homes feature a mix of hard floors and rugs.
    • Design Flaws Impacting Performance - One aspect that struck me was how the vacuum's design led it to drag particles backward. Especially when I retraced over an area to capture missed spots, it failed to efficiently pick up the debris. Such a flaw might seem minor but significantly impacted the overall cleaning experience, requiring multiple passes for satisfactory results.

Our Expert Opinion of the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean

After giving the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean a whirl, I was floored by its powerful suction - it breezes through cleaning tasks like a champ.

It didn't matter if it was hardwood, tile, or carpet, this little device managed it all effortlessly.

And let's talk about that filtration system - it's spot on at trapping dust and allergens.

Add to that a sturdy, durable build that feels like good value for money.

But what truly surprised me? How light it is! This thing is super portable, and it doesn't drop the ball on performance either.

Now, stacking it up against competitors like the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser and the Dirt Devil Scorpion, our Dustbuster takes the lead with its superior suction power.

Sure, the Eureka EasyClean is light, but it still can't beat the Dustbuster in the weight department.

And none of them could go toe-to-toe with the Dustbuster when it comes to its filtration system.

I've had my hands on the older models too, the Dustbuster 16V and 14.4V.

The latest Quick Clean model is a clear step up. They've addressed the suction power issue from the past models, and it shows.

Plus, the battery life has gotten a nice boost, and the filtration system is even better.

It's clear they're paying attention to what users like us have to say.

Our Ratings of the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean

    Suction Power 7.8
he Dustbuster Quick Clean has a decent amount of suction power for a cordless handheld vacuum. It can easily pick up dust, dirt, and small debris from hard floors, carpets, and upholstery. However, it may not be powerful enough to pick up larger objects or heavy-duty messes.
    Filtration System Quality 7.2
The Dustbuster Quick Clean has a washable HEPA filter that traps dust, dirt, and allergens. This helps to keep your home clean and healthy. However, the filter can be difficult to clean, and it may not be as effective at trapping small particles as a bagless vacuum with a HEPA filter.
Price & Value for Money 8.4
The Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean is a relatively affordable cordless handheld vacuum. It is a good value for the price, and it offers a number of features that are typically found in more expensive models.
    Durability & Build Quality 6.3
The Dustbuster Quick Clean is made of durable materials, but it is not as well-built as some other cordless handheld vacuums. The plastic housing can be easily scratched, and the power button can be difficult to press.
    Weight & Portability 9.1
The Dustbuster Quick Clean is lightweight and portable, making it easy to maneuver around your home. It is also small enough to fit in a drawer or on a shelf when not in use.
    Cord vs Cordless 8.0

Cons of the Black and Decker Dustbuster Quick Clean

    • Not Great With Small Stuff - It's a bit of a bummer that this vacuum struggles with smaller particles like hair and dirt. The suction power is okay, but sometimes it just doesn't cut it.
    • Battery Life Could Use a Boost - Let me tell you, the battery life on this thing is a letdown. Only a month in and it's given up the ghost - won't even charge! And even when it was working, it wouldn't last beyond a quick 10-minute clean.
    • Functionality Isn’t up to Scratch - Here's the real kicker: it barely does anything for carpets, only really works on hard surfaces. And, I've got to keep my finger on the button the entire time. Plus, you wouldn't believe it, but it spits some of the dust back out. Not what you want from your vacuum, that's for sure.

    Other Inexpensive Vacuums I Tested

In our quest to find the ultimate budget vacuum, we also put the Armor All AA255 Wet & Dry Vacuum, the Stanley SL18910P-3 Wet/Dry, and the Powools Car Vacuum to the test, but, regrettably, they didn't quite clinch a spot in our top picks.

    Powools Car Vacuum

After evaluating the Powools Car Vacuum, I can report that its suction strength is just about passable, but definitely leaves room for improvement.

The vacuum's design could use some rethinking, especially when it comes to the dirt cup design - dirt tends to sit in the nozzle and can fall out if the vacuum is jostled, which is far from ideal.

On a positive note, the LED light feature is notably useful, the battery life seems decent, and the crevice tool does come in handy, but overall, it feels like this vacuum might be more suited for light, sporadic use rather than regular, heavy-duty cleaning.

    Stanley SL18910P-3 Wet/Dry

Having put the Stanley SL18910P-3 Wet/Dry Vacuum to the test, I must say, it offers remarkable suction power for its price point.

However, it falls short in areas like the exhaust port, which, lacking a muzzle, is as loud as a jet engine and can kick up dust before you have a chance to vacuum it.

The hose is rather inflexible and short, while the foam filter system feels a bit cheap and is not as easy to manipulate as one might hope.

Armor All AA255 Wet & Dry Vacuum

The Armor All AA255 Wet & Dry Vacuum performs adequately for small, light debris cleanup tasks, but struggles when faced with heavier, stickier substances like wet food particles on upholstery.

It falls short on its wet vacuuming capabilities, particularly in situations of minor flooding, as it requires frequent emptying after approximately half a gallon of water, a process that can become quite tedious.

The vacuum's various attachments and storage capacities are a mixed bag, with some proving useful and convenient, like the small detailing brush, while others, like the large wand and larger brushed attachment, prove to be cumbersome and less effective.

What Cheap Vacuums Should You Avoid?

Based on our firsthand experience, you might want to steer clear of the Eureka Home 3-in-1 Handheld Vac and the CRAFTSMAN 2.5 Gallon Wet/Dry Portable Vac—they've both not lived up to expectations.

    Eureka Home 3-in-1 Handheld Vac

As someone who's tested the Eureka Home 3-in-1 Handheld Vac, I can tell you, it's not all roses.

The motor gave out within seven months and the handle could have fried an egg with how hot it got.

And don't get me started on their customer service – let's just say it's a bit of a merry-go-round!

    CRAFTSMAN 2.5 Gallon Wet/Dry

After giving the CRAFTSMAN 2.5 Gallon Wet/Dry Portable Vac a thorough run, I've got to say, it's a letdown.

The suction's pretty weak, the hose is awkwardly short, and the material isn't up to par—it's deformed in no time!

And trust me, reaching out for support is like pulling teeth—you're just sent in circles with little help.

The ThisWorx Car Vacuum is my top recommendation, and here's why.

Its powerful suction deals with diverse surfaces effortlessly, making cleaning a breeze.

The filtration system shines, capturing fine particles like no other.

Although the build could be sturdier, it's incredibly lightweight and portable. Given the price, this vacuum offers a remarkable deal!
